And here's a pic from my weekend trip to see the cherry blossoms:

As you can see, there were "just a few" other people there with the same idea...

Although that notecard was not particularly welcoming, it reminded me of something I saw on an airplane, back in...1991 or so, when the U.S. airlines started trying to ensure that people seated in the exit rows would be willing to help in case of an emergency exit.

There was a placard in the seat pocket, which explained the procedure for how to open the emergency exit door, how to exit, etc.

The final statement on the placard? Something like: "If you cannot read these instructions, please inform a flight attendant."

I was crying, I was laughing so hard.

Your story reminded me of this experience driving through an Indiana town along a two-lane, divided highway. The sign stated:

'Warning, State Correctional Facility...Do not pick up hitchhikers'
 Really gives me a lot of faith with our penal system

I think it's from the camera flash? I'm looking at her now and see no white spots. She has started "attacking" everything. It's so cute. She was on my bed this morning fighting with her shadow lmao.

that is a beautiful shot. i would LOVE to go see the blossoms, but perhaps on a day that is not hosting said event. too many people for me. with so many people around, i might have some sort of neurotic, paranoid panic attack. LOL

Oh, 3Ring, believe me, I was not a happy camper at a few points during my afternoon trek. In most places, there was plenty of room for people to spread out, but some spots were bottlenecks and there were waaaay too many people and strollers and bikes and backpacks for me.

VERY crowded. VERY.

Inbound, it was crowded on the train, but the platform was OK.

However, when attempting to get on the train at the Smithsonian station...it was very scary. A mad crush of people. Much pushing and impatience. :(

She also chirps just like a bird. Really. She sounds just like a bird. I swear she is half bird. So was thinking of naming her something bird like....:p
