Well, you have to like Country, but Carrie Underwood has done fabulous. Her debut album sold over 300,000 copies in the first week and went triple platinum. She has now had sextuple-platinum sales and was the first coutnry artist to sell that many copies of a debut album since LeAnn Rimes in 1996. Can you tell that I like country and Carrie? _____________________

Kelly Clarkson, the first winner did really well also. And a few of the finalists have done pretty well, but you are correct in that there have been more flops that not.

Didn't Taylor Hicks just lose his record contract? or was that Reuben Studdard.... lol Doughtery seems to maybe be on his way, as well as Jordon Sparks and Katherine McPhee and Kellie Pickler possibly - time is still a bit early to tell on those. Many of the rest released a debut album and then fell into never never land. ETA: The biggest difference with Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood is that they hit it pretty damn big the same year they won and have stayed up there. The rest are still struggling to really make a smash showing or to keep up after a hit or two. _____________________

Hugs Lil - have fun.
I thought American Idol was something I'd never want to watch. But then husband and I got hooked on it during the writers' strike. This is our third season of watching and the final 10 contestants this year are SO much better than the previous two years. When I was listing shows we record at my house I forgot Criminal Minds CSI - Las Vegas Big Bang Theory (my second favorite show) _____________________
