This answer reminded me of the scene from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" when Indiana Jones pulls out his gun to handle the guy with the really really long sword.

Your tail is quite small so . . . must be careful there.

Is it just me, or does Jerboa's tail look like a leetle snake?

** Warning **

** What you are about to hear will really annoy most Women or Men trying to lose weight! :D

Today I had to go to a GNC nearby where I live to replace a laptop system board.

It belonged to a woman I know that works there. So I was happy to see her since the last time we worked together was about 5 yrs ago at the Restaurant.

Anyways... We got to talking, and being a GNC Clerk, she was touting the benefits of their Weight Gain stuff. To which I had to tell her the stuff doesnt work on me. Never has.

The reason: Since 1984 I have weighed between 95 to 98lbs.

Spent a year trying weight/muscle gain stuff & lifting weights.

Nothing!

My metabolism is VERY high I guess. The only "belly" I've gotten was from beer. And not much of one at that! I think I can wear a Men's Small now? 31" waist. WOOHOO!!!! I still gotta hunt for 'em in the kids section tho. My waist is bigger, but my legs arent any longer! I'm now a "husky" kid!!! :D

Doesn't bother me in the least Tod. Everyone is different and those who struggle to gain weight, have it no less easy than those of us who struggle to lose it. And personally I think all that GNC stuff is a bunch of hooey. The only way to gain/lose is to do it in a smart manner, by eating and exercising properly; surely not with supplements only- IMHO of course.

Agree totally, Elora....basic fact is you have to burn off more calories than you consume each day...you'll lose all the weight you desire :)

Aye, the weight lifting toned things up, but was lost after a week & a half with the Flu. The weight/muscle stuff did nothing more than gimme the shits.

I've gone back to doing some weights & exercise stuff since all I do all day is drive around. Nothing too drastic. Just enough to keep things in working shape. :)

*sniffles* I used to be a size One :(

Yup!

I gained 25lbs when I left the Navy, and started working desk jobs, and living on fast food for lunch.

I started working at a place with an on-site fitness center, and cafeteria with a good salad bar, and in the last year have dropped it all. By :gasp: eating properly and exercising!

My RL husband is 5'9", weighs 119 lbs dripping wet after a heavy meal, and wears a 27 waist, 32 length. Shopping for him is HORRIBLE. We have to special order his jeans...which of course, run a small fortune, when you buy 10 pair at a time ://

more pearls of wisdom from my mysti:
From: someone
A man sank into the psychiatrist's couch and said, "I have a terrible problem, Doctor. I have a son at Harvard and another son at Princeton; I've just gifted each of them with a new Ferrari; I've got homes in Beverly Hills, Palm Beach, and a co-op in New York; and I've got a thriving ranch in Venezuela. My wife is a gorgeous young actress who considers my two mistresses to be her best friends."
The psychiatrist looked at the patient, confused. "Did I miss something? It sounds to me like you have no problems at all."
"But, Doctor, I only make $175 a week."

I'll have to have a chat with my mysti, to find out why it's not giving me gifts of wisdom :/

My rl husband is 6'6" and not that skinny any more. He gets some of his clothes at the Big and Beautiful store. I'm 5'7" and wear children's tee shirts and shorts. But if I eat three extra soy beans I gain weight - not in good places. In fact all the sorbet I've been eating lately has my jeans a bit tight. I wish I had your metabolism, Tod! I think a lot of U.S.ers still think that what pre-industrial agricultural workers ate is a normal American diet.

Yes! In fact I think I speak for most us when I say you can say anything you like. And may I say I really enjoy everyone here too. In fact I wanted to talk about it on that "positive" thread but I just had too much good stuff to say about you all - I didn't have the energy.
