I didn't watch any of the coverage. Have those idiots at CNN learned to not start calling a winner at 5PM ET when half the country haven't voted yet?

They waited until the polls closed on the West Coast...although, I do think they called some of the states too soon. They ultimately turned out to be correct on all of their calls, but it still makes me uncomfortable to hear a winner announced when only 5% (or whatever) of the ballots have actually been counted, especially since they were basing it on exit polls. They said they only called them when those polls were overwhelmingly in one direction and the votes counted so far seemed to agree, but...

The guy with SMART Board was still awesome. He'd drill down on counties in battleground states and then go back and forth in time to compare the numbers to the last election, which illustrated that, even in counties he was losing, Obama had significantly better numbers than the previous Democratic candidate and, consequently, McCain's numbers were underperforming as compared to Bush's. He also pointed out areas that hadn't reported in yet and how they might help or hinder the candidates. Obama was losing Indiana for a long time but, as SMART Board guy (King?) demonstrated, the fact that he was close in the red counties and that the heavily Democrat ones hadn't all reported in yet meant he still had a good chance...and, ultimately, he took it.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

EVERYBODY is picking that starter av. Welcome to Legend City, twin. I'm Lindal Atkinson there, unless my name change has gone through. I had to try logging in about four or five times, but once I made it, I didn't crash. They did kick me out for a sim restart, though.

LCO is an interesting place. I met my first "Linden" (or "Legend", there) in person within fifteen minutes of arrival. There are probably less than 50 regions in the world so far, and there were a total of about seven Residents shown on the map of the world when I was there. Even so, I kept seeing people. I think five or six rezzed in while I was hanging around the arrival point. The place has a feel of "endless possibilities...IF we all buckle down and make something of it".

As for the duck walk...AO's aren't supported yet, drat it. Plus my Space Navigator is pretty shaky there. I'm just happy to be able to walk at ALL in a new and just-starting-out world.

I made an Legend City account, Chris Nordman. :) Pretty cool that I was able to mirror my SL name.

Good Morning Oh Thread, My Thread.

I'm off to a slow start this morning.

Erm...what's this about my tail?

Your tail is quite small so . . . must be careful there.

I want one...so I can tease Ann and Lexxi with it. :D

Not to mention sticking pins in it when Jerry doesn't dance with me once ALL NIGHT.

I agree. I found that part of the coverage so very interesting.

Yesterday I watched CSPAN as they showed how news organizations from around the globe reported the election results. Very cool to see how the different points of view.

/me runs off to see if it is available on the CSPAN website so I can watch it one more time...

awww..I missed you - didn't see you there at all! :(
You had to be fast. A couple people did say hi to me but I don't even know if they saw my answer because I pretty much just froze and then crashed. No idea what my problem was everything has been laggy for me for a couple of days. I'm sorry I missed you.

I think I just spent the quickest $300 in my life, on something other than shoes, or involving throwing dice. I had my fireplace and chimney cleaned this morning. I 've been in this house 5 years and never used the fireplace. It's a small house really never needed the extra heat, besides being too lazy to deal with it. :p I had a new furnace put in last year and it was recommended that the chimney was cleaned to improve the efficiency. Besides the cleaning some repair work was needed inside the fireplace, cement and stuff. So wham bam, in and out in less than an hour, I have a ready to use fireplace and I'm $300 poorer. The joys of home ownership.
Money well spent if what I've herd about the danger of flu fires is true.
