Oh that's adorable. I'd buy one.

I love the cut and fit, Claire. I like the playful use of colors.

A general comment (not on your dress in particular) -- the thing that I think makes clothing a "cut above" the competition is texturing...detail work, burned in wrinkles, realistic looking fabric. Lots and lots of layer work in Photoshop. Realistic looks for fabrics that are hard to do, like metallics and leathers and lace.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I agree, but overly realistic fabric also makes me run away from stores...it just looks strange in our cartoon world.

But what about Hope? We need some vague hope in never explained plans that will never work.

i like the wrinkles in shirts, and maybe a fold or two, but other than that it just seems gaudy to me if it's "too realistic".

never give up hope. hope is all we have really.... unless there's tequilla involved. by then, there is no need for hope. just a bodyguard and maybe a personal assistant to make sure we stay clothed whilst wearing the lamp on our head and standing on the table dancing like Elaine from Seinfeld.... okay, i may have said too much there.

Now that the fighting's all over, can we have a little makeup action? Hmmm?
I very much enjoy MAKEUP action -- but only with the right folks
(/me winks at Jerboa)
:D

Vamp, looks like you need a few lessons in English - private lessons on this particular word might be best.

Lil, you are impossible to forget.
I'll just go have some MAKEUP action with Yosef.

Raindrop. BTW, there's a fabulous "Raindrop Dance" available by Four Yip for free. I have it, it's kind of a harem like outfit and it has a huge gorgeous raindrop you rez into up in the air, with a dance animation in it :) It's rather fantastic!

Pix on my flickr site, but it's WAY buried now because it was from when the Garden of Earthly Delights was around.

I have that too Elora, it is beautiful.

Claire I love the dress. The design and colors are great and the black background makes the flexi skirt match the system clothes underneath the best. The shape and length of the skirt are lovely.
As for realistic details like texture and folds how much to put in seems to be a matter of taste and I agree it can be over done.

re detailed textures:
I think shading is usually a big thing, and an occasional fold etc, but I have seen some seriously overdone stuff. With the environment we don't need photorealistic clothes IMO. But then, I don't know how much of that is my lack of ability to do such realistic work, and how much is simply how I like my av to look.

meh, I guess if I see something I like - I like it, if not - not.

Same here. A little hint of real is ok, but the avatars still have a cartoonish feel, especially with a non Windlight Viewer, so the clothes should go with that. I really don't want total realism, and the idea of putting ral faces on avatars creeps me out no end.

Our Brenda is fond of her Huey

When the guys give her crap
Then the rotor blades slap
And the chain gun and rockets go BLOOIE!
