Wait a minute. You have negative AND positive current? But that's two currents. And there's only this one wire here. Who's doing the traffic control? And who's going to do something about Oryx's sucking holes?

And why haven't I gone for cookies yet?

/me grabs umbrella and scurries out.

Oy!

/me slams the door and locks it after Lindal, ensuring that she'll be standing out in the rain with soggy chocolate chip cookies.

Of course you would love Triumphs look where you live. :-) They are cool bikes. I owned a Triumph Spitfire (car) when I was younger. I could not figure out British Electrical Theory so I couldn't keep it.

OK - I've looked into it - The first picture in Oryx's post is a Royal Enfield. That's the bike I was talking about that is made in India. I just checked their website. I'm officially in love. I mean it. They have a handful of models to choose from, but they are all based on the 1955 version of the bike and it really hasn't changed in the last 50+ years.

That's my bike. I can justify it because of the 70 mpg, but I love everything about that bike.

Trout:

I've seen the current Enfield. I doubt it is for you. I too fell in love with it the styling, but you mentioned not wanting to look like a circus bear (I have the same issue) The Enfield is SMALL. Small.

Think Honda Rebel kinda small. That is an exaggeration, but not by much.

Unless it has changed significantly in the last 2 model years... which doesn't appear to be true from the photos.

Trout - it will leak oil! Trust me, I know.

I've heard. Do you have one? If so, what's your impression? I know they have some maintenance issues like leaking oil, but I've been tinkering with engines since I was a kid, and I'm pretty sure I can fix anything that goes wrong with a motorcycle - at least a basic bike like this. Fixing the GPS system in a Honda Goldwing is going to be out of my range.

I'd be interested to hear what your experience was with Royal Enfield. I'm seriously considering getting one. There's a dealer in my home town.

EDIT: Thanks Xerxes. That might rule it out, then. I'm 6' tall, and while I'm not huge, I'm certainly not skinny either. The bike may just be too small for me.

Thanks, Mac...well, it was handy to be able to pull the names of all the threadees from the "Replies" column affiliated with this particular thread. I didn't know that list was even there until yesterday...

Apologizing yet again- and should we send a group invite to anyone listed thereon who has not already been invited to the Thread Group? Or would that cause major whinage and a quick defection to the Whine Thread? Does the Whine Thread need its own whining group and or forum?

You may be too tall for the VZ800.

The VZ800 was considered to be a ladies bike. The seat is really close to the ground. I personally like it because of that lazee-boy recliner feeling.

It's not the electrons jumping over that flow. It's the electrical charge left from an open hole where an electron should be. It's not really the electron flow, it's the holes that flow.

Would contraceptives help?

I think Oryx just called me a hole.

Hold please, while I work up a full head of righteous indignation. Flaming to follow soon. Unless I get distracted by something shiny or fall asleep.

Wrong thread... please the Whine Down Thread ... over there ---------------->

Yes. Yes it is. I'd love one. Two issues. My justification for getting one is the awful mileage my Avalanche gets, and Exile bikes don't exactly have the most economical engines. Issue two is the fact that I have a pretty limited amount of dough to put into the purchase and a custom built bike like an Exile isn't going to fit into my budget.

Ooooh.. That's very nice, I'll take that one. The handle bars seem a tad too far, though. I like when the bars are adjusted to me, and not the other way around. Are higher ones available?

Good mornin' Thread, and Threaders!

Well, I know it's almost lunch time, but I've been busy.

I'm having my house tented for termites on Monday, and have spent the whole morning trying to locate a place to board my two kitties! My own hotel reservation took 10 minutes!

But we love our furry friends, don't we... :)

The next drama will be getting them both into carriers at the same time.

/me shudders.

I'm pretty sure that Exile will custom fit/modify any part you want.
You'd need to endure the hardship of a trip to California for the fitting. Nice loooooong drive back though :)

You could always go to a motel, and sneak them in.

When I moved last year, my cats were the last 'things' to go. I took a taxi and followed the moving truck. They each had their own carrier that I placed on the back seat. They yowled through the whole ride - it was deafening, and also funny to watch the driver's obvious 'unhappiness'. I kept apologizing, and he just nodded and pretended he didn't mind, but I could tell from the look in his eyes that he couldn't wait for us to reach our destination.
