Gadgets you MUST have in SL

About the "what is a be-bar" question:

In the first place, it isn't anything nasty... I have one and forgot I had it. Some time back I bought an anatomical extra for a guy as a gift... and a man who was helping me told me I ought to get him the be-bar as well, so I bought it.

It turned out to be no transfer, ha ha, so I left it untouched in my inventory, thinking it was something just for boys...

Then the comments about douchebaggery reminded me of this thread, and I checked to see if anyone had answered the be-bar question, etc., etc., so

I went inworld, fished out my be-bar and tried it on... hmm...

What it is, is a hotbar. You can program up to 100 buttons with pretty much whatever you want. If you don't know what a hotbar is, it's a set of icons that sit in a box somewhere on the edge of your screen. And if you need to rez a pose stand, or hug someone or whatever, you can just hit the button.

The reason that it's often sold with male appendages is that there are specific plugins made (by the boy-bit makers) for the be-bar that (I suppose) have to do with the use of the male bits.

Probably this association has put its more ordinary uses in the shadow.

Never heard about GreenLife- and there is zero info on their site- what makes it so good?

It lets you do several things that normally would require scripted gadgets, well most of the time. The biggest features are a nifty avatar scanner, kind of like the 1.23 minimap on super energy pills, some useful building tweaks, and some ways to teleport around without landmarks or maps, but there;'s a lot more. There are things scripted tools can do that this viewer can't, and things that Emerald can do that scripts can't.

Yeaaaaa!!! Bringing this topic back allows me to update one of my "must haves" from waaaayyy back in this thread:

For couples, The Rendezvous, imo, is an absolute must. It takes the place of a ton of separate couple walk animations, etc. Among other things it allows a couple to walk together in several different configurations, including two "carry walks"; fly together (this was a lifesaver for me when my partner would say "follow me" then fly off somewhere and I immediately lost him - in the past I would either ask him to tp me over or use my find avatar on the Mystitool, but now we fly together and this is never an issue), and swim together. Also has a "walk on water" component.

There are also a multitude of sit, stand, lay poses and several slow dances.

The updated news from my former post is that a new version was released several months ago. The 2.0 version was upgraded and is wonderful. However, the new version is 3.0 which adds to all of the above:

*Avatar adjustment for differing heights
*Can climb steps together
*Will operate up to 1,000m
*6 new sit & ground poses
*And my favorite "fun" things: interactional gestures: pointing, shaking hands, high five, low five, behind the back five

I believe the 2.0 and 3.0 are purchased separately due to 3.0 having more features. There are demos available.

(No, I don't work for Rendezvous, but we have used this product for almost 2 years and, as I probably mentioned in my former post, we used it for our Partnering Ceremony and saved us purchasing a bunch of pose balls. We use this regularly and have never had any trouble with it.)

A cuddle pose from Bits n Bobs, and my comfy home-made couch
My colour-changing Porn-stars Chucks shoes which I love.
...and, um, that's it. Everything else is garnish.

I used to include the freebie version of the Mystitool (but I only ever really used the radar) and the Flight Feather, but now I've switched to the Greenlife Emerald viewer too, I've dropped those as they're both built-in to the viewer.

You know hugging can lead to other things, and LL wouldn't want to be blamed for that!

My ears and tail.

Just about everything else I can go without, if only temporarily. But if for some reason something prevents me from having the ears and tail, I avoid it.
