ya just attatch your mystiTool to another part of your HUD ..once it is on your screen you can right click and edit it and move it to where you want it on your screen.

Oh cool, I didn't know you could move it, thanks for that.

I wear a ZHAO 2 HUD I made myself, Mystitools, X-HUD, Tiny Empires and my ROFL HUD. I never take any of them off. They are so much a part of my daily SL life I would be lost without them.

ZHAO II (with seamless sit) is my only indispensable gadget.

I use one as my AO. I use another set of a half-dozen to organize my dances. I used to use Huddles but hated how the HUD took up so much space. So I split my dances up into categories—Listening, Grooves, Street, Club, Punk, Exotic, etc.— and made a ZHAO loaded with dances that match each style.

Now I just wear the ZHAO to fit the music I'm dancing to. It loads and plays more quickly than Huddles, takes up far less space, and was free (except for the dances of course).

I also recently bought a Q-Translator and have had a lot of fun with that. I won't call it an indispensable tool, but I've been very impressed with its performance. The ability to understand and communicate in foreign languages is priceless. It's hard to believe it cost less than L$400.

2 attachments I won't leave home without:

- slack's forum reader
so I don't miss the conversation on RA while I'm inworld (and important threads such as "Help me! I've been bitten by a Vampire without being logged on 2 SL.";)

(available at the Hangout: http://www.wikitipi.com/cgi-bin/wikitipi.cgi?Allana/165/40/34 )

- wikiTiPi HUD
because I can grab a list of locations from any web page with a single click and it'll load them into the HUD for easy tp'ing. and a bunch of other things.

I don't really love the Forums, I just say that so I can get them into bed.

It makes it easier to steal their socks.

I read an article from about 2 years ago listing :10 Items You Must Have On SL. I thought I'd throw in my 10 and see how many others disagree. By "gadget" I mean pretty much anything that isn't a house or clothing, but may affect all of them.

In no particular order:

1) An animation override (AO). I won't recommend any particular one but there are three or four very good ones.

2) A Mysti Tool. This is the Swiss Army Knife of SL.

3) If you live in a home that has valuables in it -- things you don't want ripped off -- some kind of home security system. Again, there are several good ones.

4) A mulit-station radio for your home.

5) Something to play on: a surfboard, skiis, parachute, boat, horse, or ridable wombat. Something to do other than shop, dance, and you-know-what.

6) A pose stand. These are freebies everywhere. They are also part of Mysti Tool.

7) A Be-Bar or something similar. I was not quite sure about this one, since using a be-bar that is overloaded can be as much of a pain as digging through inventory.

8) Face and body lighting. It will even make mediocre skins look better. Good ones are often giveaways at better stores.

9) A land leveler. These are usually free either in freebie boxes or at land sales offices. If you're terraforming without too much detail these are indispensible.

10) Something really tacky. But that's just me. You can't throw a rock without hitting something tacky in SL. In fact, there are tacky rocks.

Please feel free to add your own ideas, make your own lists, or tell me why I have no idea what I am talking about.

sr

1) Don't use one often. For men, it generally makes them look gay.

2) Will go and investigate.

3) Pfffft.

4) Useful, but not a must have. I generally stream from my iTunes into my home anyhow.

5) I use a chair. If I'm not doing the others in SL I'm generally working on something in RL.

6) Agreed.

7) WTF is a Be Bar?

8) You need a Facelight 7000 lol In all seriousness, just get a decent skin. Facelights are an annoyance and can light up half a club.

9) Agreed. IMO it should be in the library.

10) NO. lol I have enough RL tat without needing more in SL

I gotta admit, a lot of those male AOs... all I can say is if you're not Jack Nicholson you shouldn't use them.

Oh come on. Too many male AOs look like preening weenie poses you would see from Hot Chicks with Douchebags (http://hotchickswithdouchebags.com). All those wannabe Mr. Tough Guy poses...

I think you're in the wrong place to be equating gay with douchebag. Have you tried the locker room at high school? Goes over much better there.
