Now you are not maintaining topic. Since I am part-Jamaican (African heritage) in real, I may actually be qualified to comment on that. But let's not "go there"; sl is, thankfully, fairly free of racism and I dont think such an incredibly complex and emotional topic should be subjected to debate on the forum, do you? :)

So your unwarranted personal attack was "maintaining topic" was it?
Intersting.

Lol, Conan, your comment "woman just make no sense" is a general statement that begs comment. Personal attack? Surely not. Don't be so sensitive.
And "women have to talk about everything. Absolutely everything" is a sweeping statement that (if anyone else was reading the forum thread) woul darouse at least some commentary.
And shouldn't you be at work?

I've been accused of a lot of things, but never sensitivity.

That, I am afraid, is painfully obvious. But we must stop the banter. This isn't a London pub and teh forums will accuse us of hogging the thread.
Get back to work - or go to work spreading peace and harmony. Don't be a wanker and do a good deed today.

Back to the topic then.

The fact that you needed to talk my post proves my point.

Not sure what the point is now. But its old knowledge that women do tend to be more verbal than men. If you have been raised by a principal care-giver who is a woman then even if you are a male you will be inclined to oral or verbal. In that sense you are right. If a male has dominated the relationship and you are a male then you will probably be a more silent personality, relying upon gesture or much more demonstrative answers with little or no debate opportunties. Now as our education is being less gender specific and "enlightened" fathers are playing a more active role in raising a child then we may get a different result.
I have to know these types of things since it affects the dynamics of my "product" and my career. But I am single, with no children (or pets) in reality since I am too busy to raise a husband and children.
Also less males are being born so we are having a modifed "Children of Men" scenario forming.

I disagree. My mother, by virtue of her natural verbosity, was arguably dominant in my parent's relationship - my father, being a man, kept mostly silent on the rare occasion he was home from work. However, in face-to-face conversation you'll still struggle to get more than mere cursory grunts out of me. Conversation is just noise for it's own sake made by people with nothing to say.

Then are you not agreeing with me? Check your comment - it seems you actually agree with me when you say "in conversation you'll still struggle to get more than cursory comments from me". I am confused.

By the way, I read the comment you made on my "Bully for You" thread. You and I are English I think? Wanker in that case was not being used in a sense of bullying you, it was used as I often do when in a final "cheers!"; its just something I say. If I in any way offended you then I am very sorry. Please accept my apology.

As I've pointed out on many an occasion, taking offence is a choice. Why should you apologise if I choose to be offended? You're not responsible for my choices. As it happens, though, I chose not to be.

I'm off. Have a good day. The sun rises on my real world. It is -10 celcius. "The air bites shrewdly" and I have "miles to go before I sleep".

someting about minds, small, average, and great discussing others, events, and ideas respectively?

but trully, conversation is a hallmark of civilization... it's also a social medium, providing a link for common interests, goals, community, and even an outlet for that herd instinct that socialization can represent.... and provides the context of communicating more complex subjects

think about that the next time you want to rain disapproval on those that aren't saying anything you care about hearing... if not for those people, we'd all still sniffing each others rear ends, and happily munching on others lice

your name tag says it all.

It's snowing. I'm going outside to watch it and take a walk in my forest, in real. Lovely big flakes of snow, like angel-whispers.

Racism, Sexism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Classism and all the other forms of bigotry
exist in SL because humans exist in SL.
If don't know it first hand it might because you're in one of the special groups of people
immune from it or mentally blocking it so it doesn't ruin your fun.
Gender equality the concept wasn't designed originally for all.
It was meant for white, upper class women so they have voting rights, and right
to own property but if they married it no longer became their property.
And in 2008 it means Women can do more but Men are still suppose to be
like Cavemen if they want to get lucky it often seems.

You should re-read Mary Wollstonecroft's "A Vindication on the Rights of Women" (1797)
Its been a very long time since husbands could claim their wives' property. Gender equality is far more evident in the past 50 years thank God. But has always been a mainstay of my family when my two great great grandmothers ran extremely successful businesses and even employed men.

Awesome read.

And one of my top 5 historical figures.

That's pretty much what I was driving at. I don't think Jig got it at the time though.
