Women Behaving Badly?

What I consider perfectly normal behaviour can be considered "behaving badly" or,at the very least, not meeting expectations.
We must be careful of NOT applying our cultural expectations or our generational biases or any other pre-conceived or learned attitudes to a thread involving morality or performance or "behavviour"
SIN is a eurocentric concept - my own cultural roots are matriarchal and NOT patriarchal.
And I accept that England is NOT a purely patriarchal society by any means,
It makes a huge difference.

I am not at all surprised to see FD support you on this. In many ways you are correct.

Based upon my views and knowledge of the society around me, it has more to do with how we are raised and some stereotypes that still linger. Quite often a man will be seen as weak or too feminine if he discusses his feelings. Overall, men are raised to just not talk about that stuff -- especially not with the general public. Whereas women are raised to constantly talk about their emotions and to get support from other women. Also, in some parts of our society, it is still considered acceptable for women to bash men, but not the other way around. I don't know if women are the more emotional of the species, but they do tend to be the more vocal about their emotions.

I honestly do believe that women get their heart broken here more than men, or get the feeling that they have been done wrong. However, I really think that only part of that is because the men are "scumbags". A large part is because of what the women think they want and what they decide to see and hear about the situation. I firmly believe, in SL and RL, that a lot of our heartache is brought on by our own refusal to see a situation for what it really is.

guess i'm kinda screwe in this whole debate... all I have are women behaving badly stories... and I'm no angel either, push comes to shove...

Jumping in here, but I think it is a matter of attitude. If I prefer to control teh relationship as a woman, then I must recognize that teh man can be hurt.
Culturally I prefer a sensitive man. I dont liek sleeping with silent and "Manly" types here or in real. But having lived in north america and worked in that continent, I find that is a common "male-type".
European males can be charmingly frank and emotional. But Northern English males? Well, as my Gran used to say - "You can tell a man from Lancashire - but you can't tell him much"!

I have been called a B**ch many times and one of my favorite sayings is "I am a B**ch and damn proud of it".

Remember that film "White Men Can't Jump"? Woody Harrelson's girlfriend is complaining that when she says she's thirsty Woody gets her a drink when infact what she wants is to talk about how thirsty she is. She says she wants Woody to tell her that he empathises and that he two knows how it feels to be parched. Woman just make no sense.

Now you are not maintaining topic. Since I am part-Jamaican (African heritage) in real, I may actually be qualified to comment on that. But let's not "go there"; sl is, thankfully, fairly free of racism and I dont think such an incredibly complex and emotional topic should be subjected to debate on the forum, do you?
