Well I am curious. And I'd like to understand what we are talking about here.

yes I am lurking, and yes I get pm's from ppl telling me to check out what is being said

I want to clarify some thing

this is not because of the marcel thread, this has been a long time coming

now...

I do not need cheering up, if anything all the silly banter that has taken place, in a thread that took me a lot of courage and strength to post, a thread that I poured my soul into, well that silly banter feels like a slap in the face

some of you say you know me, and that you are my friend, well if you truely knew me, you would have respected me, and not turned this thread into a circus act

why did I post it, well for numerous reasons, the biggest being to unload, and explain, and try to make sense of what is going on inside me. Also to show anyone who might be feeling the same way, that they are not alone

you will all have your opinions, and please respect that in one another, don't turn this thread into a place to come in and insult and bash on one another, that only confirms exactly what I have been feeling and trying to say

it is hard to put into words
There is a lot going on in my RL that I can not discuss, suffice to say, it is highly stressful
so I came here hoping to alleviate some of that stress, and because of my poor choice of words, a lot of the times, I felt as though I was being attacked

That feeling persists in this thread as well

I do not appreciate ppl making light of my pain, and trying to joke and cajole me out of it... it is not going to happen and that just feels disrespectful to me

the "diving into a pool of piranha" is exactly how I would describe it

I know I am rambling as I am trying to get all my thoughts out here so they make sense, but, sadly they do not even make sense to me

to everyone who has shown me support both here, in world and in pm's I thank you, for actions speak much louder than words.
If you say you are my friend, and that you like me, and etc, then show it, don't use this as your playground, there are plenty of other threads (especially one) that is totally acceptable for that kind of behavior

I think on that note, I will return to lurking and I hope I have clarified a bit of this for some folks

Rha, I agree with most of the posts here, just take a break..I have stayed away more, and no one misses me!!!!! sighs..and well I do try to stay away from the drama crap, too. Altho, if it all be told, I think its fun to stir the pot sometimes, but Im irish, and a smartass, so it's my job.

We haven't always seen eye to eye, but differences of opinion should not stop people communicating unless one party is abusive, which I can't say I've found you to be, and there's lots of regulars here not in the inner circle, it wouldn't be an innercircle if were all in it, nothing wrong with not tying ourselves to social obligations. So don't think you aren't wanted in the forums just because you're noy a hangout regular. There are plenty of people who have nothing to do with the hangout, and you are making a decision based on one forum out of all the SL forums
Have fun anyway, whatever you decide, and don't think you can't come back, there's no shame in having a break or just having a lower profile.

Rha, I read and sympathise.
From someone who had the forum pulled away from him, I can assure you the pain lessens. I dip back now and then but it isn't the same. I do not get drawn into the same old, same old. There are posters who have never changed their attitudes, are impervious to debate even if they understand the word. People too critical of others, too eager to categorise, too quick to damn.
Post less .. THEY are the losers.

I'm late in posting to this thread (mostly away from SL and the Forums for a week or so), and now it's kinda difficult to stay out of the fray.

Rha has contributed a lot to this Forum, and those contributions will be missed.

It would be a mistake for anybody, though, to expect to get more back from the Forum than a "thanks," sometimes a useful Resident Answer, and maybe a grin here and there. "Fitting in" just isn't part of the bargain here.

For some, there's a natural inclination to see oneself as an outsider, unwelcomed, and to see everybody else in groups excluding oneself. Others are oblivious to being genuinely shunned. I won't even hazard a guess which of those tendencies is less adaptive, but I think the former is more common in general, and especially online (where social cues are minimal), and especially among techies (who tend to introversion anyway).

So, the point is, Rha may be seeing more "fitting in" among others than is really there. And that's just a personalized version of the perception that this forum is populated by cliques (or, bizarrely, "THE clique," which takes a little persecution neurosis that critical extra step to real, tinfoil hat paranoia).

Anyway: though Rha's contributions here will be missed, I'm expecting greater things from her in-world, without the Forum's distractions.
