I'll try and start a thread. I was just reading the thread about anonymity/disclosure and it occurred to me that our first names here must have some significance. Anyone care to share the reasons for their choice of name?
Mine is pretty obvious but some are very ethereal and interesting.

I always thought mine was pretty obvious, but after talking to a few folks I realized it is only obvious to people that know anything about country dancing. I love to twostep (a style of couples country dancing for those that don't know), therefore the name.

Do attempted puns count? Sure they do. I picked mine bc/ I liked the Merlin legend stuff that surrounded it and I thought it was just a really beautiful name. Also, it starts with the same first letter as my name in RL. _____________________

Mine's got no significance.
 I wanted to use my RL first name, but it was taken for every last name I could think of (I didn't know how the LL last name system worked, when I first registered.) So I started free-associating until I came up with a name that was reasonably close, and would fit with a last name suggested by the registration page.Having said that, I've gotten used to being "Lindal Kidd", and like it now...to the point that I'm slightly annoyed when people misread it and call me "Linda". ("Lin" is OK, though). _____________________
