From: Argent Stonecutter So start at Rathais or Scratchy.Sorry, that's Earlingerhal. If that's still misspelled, try Oghus.
(Sheesh. Am I being too subtle?) Read post above about Scratchy. I am not trying anymore. You said it was possible, it clearly isn't. nuff said. Rock

From: Rock Vacirca Read post above about Scratchy. Obviously I read the post about Scratchy, or I wouldn't have responded to it, and suggested a couple of nearby alternate sims. Or (as I originally suggested) try the Kessel run, because that one's Argent-tested.

From: Argent Stonecutter Can you turn off the "bubble chat" and get a regular chat window? So far not, not sure if they plan to implement this.

From: Argent Stonecutter Can you turn off the "bubble chat" and get a regular chat window? Do not rush Everything inside BM viewer is very basic and just a blueprint. As I already said. I do believe this high-end world will come, but give it one year to start. So please ask me in 2010

From: Argent Stonecutter Can you turn off the "bubble chat" and get a regular chat window? I think bubble-chat is the 'regular', from the worlds I've visited. However, I do prefer the SL way of doing chat, and I have strongly recommended it. Rock

Well it worked upon trying it again now.
I take it there was a brief problem at the Blue Mar's end of things.
So now I have a "business account", how do I get to the forum?

As with most modern game engines, Blue Moon appears to support the ability to define a specific collision volume for each individual object : http://doc.crymod.com/AssetCreation/ExportMax.htmlI have yet to test this, but presumably if you want something to be phantom, you simply don't enable a collision volume on the object. Otherwise you can create a low-poly proxy that defines how the physics engine will treat the object, independent of it's representation: http://doc.crymod.com/AssetCreation/PhysicsProxy.html[ETA] It's apparently extremely easy to set up instancing as well. This allows you to draw large numbers of complex objects (like fences, prefabs, etc) using a single drawcall, which is a tremendous performance improvement: http://doc.crymod.com/AssetCreation/frames.html?frmname=topic&frmfile=InstancingObjects.html.

I was far outside of Beach City, crossed the rivers and realised that some areas are already reserved and many are marked to lease. All the trees inside BM are from Cryengine as I know them from other games. Many are totally new designed.

Also the high of the mountains are incredible realistic. The terrain editing inside the Cryengine2 is just sugar. This world has no borders it seems.

Well, now that Taki images are out on the streets, I suppose I can post a picture. Direct mesh import means stufs like this: As I mentioned before, this horse has fewer polygons than three sculpted prims (this is a rough, the final will have a mane, tail and tack, of course. Might play with the textures a bit more too): The thing is, that the skills I'm learning to make things like this are transferable to other things as well. SL creation tools are unique to the game. Maya/Max/SketchUp all create things that can be used on a variety of platforms. So, even if Blue Mars doesn't take off, I'll not have wasted my time studying. Now, if only SL would start incorporating direct mesh import and such.

Now, if only SL would start incorporating direct mesh import and such. O.O Cool stuff! Are you going to rig and animate them as well? OMG... I wanna visit your version of Taki I've been playing with Flowgraph (and Lua to a lesser extent), and I'm discovering that it is a great deal more powerful than I thought. You should look into doing some AI work for those horses, it would be just frikkin' *amazing* .
