It's my impression that a relatively small number of residents engage in adult activity in specifically adult sims. Flirtations and romances kick up everywhere on the grid . . . in stores, galleries, clubs . . . not just X-rated spots. What safeguards will be in place to protect teens for predators and protect other residents from mistaking a teen for a consenting adult? This seems like an accident waiting to happen.
/me applauds - exactly. Just like in RL only in RL you can see who is a kid. And who isn't. I hate to say it but if LL goes with 'age verify means age accurate' thing they will have to do it everywhere, and imo there is no accurate way to be sure. Kids will get hurt, period.
Just as teens have to wait to a certain age to drink, to drive or to marry (OMG - partnering!!), perhaps there is good reason for the current segregation and the safeguards that have kept the two grids apart.
Oh you brought up a good legal point - partnering, will laws apply based upon RL location or will SL have its own 'laws' and how will it enforce them? For instance, in the U.S., 'age of consent' or 'age to marry' varies by state (geographical location). Imagine the first May/December couple insisting their 'union is valid'?
