You know better yet I will request that the Lindens if they have not already done so set up a place where there is a timed auto return so we can all rez boats and planes and other things with which to enjoy these public sims with out having to be dependent on the hospitality of the USS sims.

Already done Jim... search for "Rez Zone" and you will find a number of areas in the Blake Sea where anyone can rez boats.

Why aren't the whole sims set rezzable with auto return?

It's not and I could see it being a major pain. Fortunately the only time I crashed yesterday was at the border crossing at Sugar Reef which did have build enabled.

Do these Linden-granted "limited roles" mean that your regatta security will be able to compel me to move out of the way on public Linden land?

Actually this is very similar to burning life land, it's Linden Land but controlled by residents with Linden support. I see it has 'from time to time, a resident/Linden event, will restrict normal usage, until such event is over'.

I look forward to sailing and flying over the Blake Sea and its adjoining sims. Thanks for the clarification, MarkT. I think the new area will give a lot of pleasure to a lot of Residents.

Nautilus City Rez Zones
01-27-2009 07:47
I took the time to compile this short list of rez zones around Nautilus City for those interested:

Nautilus - Magon 224,142,23
Nautilus - Symacom 35,86,23
Nautilus - Ysthyalm 233,121,23
Nautilus - Mlachthi 200,58,23
Nautilus - Yamm 98,151,23
Barbarossa 185,81,22
Howe 243,218,23

All areas around Nautilus City have direct access to the Blake Sea due East.
Besides these public rez zones, there are numerous private docks open to public rezzing along the coasts of Nautilus continent and Satori continent.

As I said in one of my earlier posts there are many wonderful events, beautiful places and wonderful people in the USS. She is probably not too pleased with my calling so much attention to Mark's apparent grasp for authority over the Blake Sea, still Neber is in my opinion one of those wonderful people. I have never had a problem with Mark either outside of his statement that his estate rules for aviation extend to public mainland area know as the Blake Sea. I do not think that we should be inconsiderate to others enjoying the Blake Sea or any other place in SL no matter what kind of vehicle they are in or not in. Still I do not think an estate owner should be able to extend his events outside of his own estate and infringe on other's use of public mainland to promote their own interests with out approval from the Lindens and a scheduled announcement of such events.

There are many excellent reasons to take part in activities in the USS. Not only in the Hollywood region but the New England sim regions and Sailors Cove. I have owned my own OS there in the Balboa area and land in Sailors Cove was well. I enjoyed my residential experiences, community events and the sailing very much in the past. There is a great community there.

There are very many friendly people there and much fun to be had sailing. So she is right! There a lot of friendly people and as I said wonderful people in the USS with many wonderful events and beautiful places. I said all that and I mean it :)

If you have not visited USS go visit and make some friends there and go check out all the other airports and sailing places in SL as well. One size does not fit all.

The original Linden Lab announcement made it clear that the Blake Sea would connect Nautilus with the USS. Use the map to search on Blake Sea to get the big picture.

Actually I knew Nautulis connected to the Blake Sea. I did a lot of exploring of the mainland while looking for better home for my runway. I wanted to have direct access to many protected Linden owned water sims. I also needed the performance that only comes with a full sim. I found many such places. The reason I asked is I just wanted others to be aware as well and felt it would be tacky if I was the first to point that out directly.

I'd also suggest the small but useful rezzing spot in Barbarossa, which is closer that the Nautilus ones.

Well I am definitely impressed!

Balboa Point down to Sugar Reef, over by Saint Brendan and stopped at Caneth. One sim crossing crash at Sugar Reef at start of strait was only hiccup.

A seriously good run! My first run in the Blake Sea was Barbarossa to Blake Sea - Norwegian. I need to do that again. :-)

No, no...there is a rez zone there, off to the side of the old broken pier; but Someoneorother Linden planted a non-working ferry boat right there, and it takes up most of the rez space. Perhaps there's enough room to rez a small boat, but not enough for larger ones like my brig.

Can't you rez it against their boat then edit it out over the ocean?

(and I still don't understand why Linden Land is always no-build anyway)

Hi Dakota, the boat belongs to Michael Linden. I sent him the following IM...

"Dear Michael, I was reading a residents comment about a boat in Barbarossa that was positioned in such a way that it prevented the rezzing of large boats. I went and looked and the boat seems to belonged to you. Would it be possible to enlarge the rezzing area or readjust the placement of your boat? This would make Blake Sea more acccessable from that point. Also thank you for putting up the free sailboat vendor there!!"

So maybe they will enlarge the area or move the boat a little!

Response from Michael

Michael promptly responded and said he has made a second rez area there in Barbarossa and most of the time the ferry boat will not be there.

Thank you Michael

open rezzing area, and free jetskis
01-27-2009 12:35
I finally explored this for the first time last night, and had a real blast with some friends. There were boaters all over the place shouting "Ahoy!"

Anybody can rezz a boat on the Nautilus mainland at my Devolin Paradise beach, in the Devolin Mal sim. Use the beach, or the dock. There is a dispenser for free jetskis there too.

Head due east from there and you're in the Blake Sea!

You can also launch or land your helicopter on the helipad at the top of the hotel.

There are rez zones throughout Blake's Sea, although they aren't marked well.

There's great scenery there, too. I'm going to spend a lot of time there.
