I read that book. Ottomans of Gor. It was quite boring. Not enough attachment points, I'd imagine... eta: Now, "Nice Big Four Poster Bed and Mahogany Bedroom Sets of Gor" ...that's got some possibilities. _____________________

Never been to a Gor sim that didn't land you first to either a skybox or area sectioned off marked safe zone with the meters, rules etc there. They are not only needed for those that 'stumble' into Gor sims but for roleplayers as rules vary from sim to sim along with different meters. The Op is on a wind up, as pointed out, their profile has been changed since the beginning of the thread but a lot of groups were there of slavery and BDSM nature (only one being Gor) along with ads in Picks. tsk tsk. Looks like someone excelled in Dramathurgy 101. _____________________

Can we transfer this part of the thread to the thread about sexy dances for men? Men in silks are much hotter than men in just pink thongs! Pep (Retail therapy works for men too - who would buy beer otherwise) Pep, dear- I love you.. I have no desire to see you in silks - blech! _____________________

Agreed. I've been to a lot of them, map hopping, I've never had any trouble. Even in a few cases where I didn't wear a tag, they TP points were always Safe Zones. And even if not, knowing what Gor is, I would have just left and not started a philosophical debate on their turf, no matter how much I may dislike their RP choices. _____________________

And what if I did change my profile? What matter is that to you? My travels, tastes and picks, plus friends need not suffer because I had them listed.
So I removed them. I merely asked if it would involve a Linden should such a result occured. for the record I like BDSM play - I sub and dom equally. Horse play - ponygirl and rideable SL horses. Art of any kind - erotic to modern Fetish play - I'm open minded. |

Derri if the Goreans are coming to your home why don't you just freeze them and place pretty dresses on them? I think it would be a lot more satisfying than just nuking them. I mean can you imagine the AR to the lindens? AR REPORT#49494: Help. I am a Gorean Tarn Rider and I have been dressed in a frilly pink gown with lace trim. I cannot move. OMG Bree thats funny! We will certianly consider other options. But I'm sure theres more than one of you who'd love to watch this happen.
btw heres the spec cards of the missle. PAYLOAD: The CENTURION has a variable payload, selectable from the "Payload" option in the menu. The Payload can have any combination of the following three effects: 1. Push - the CENTURION will strike everybody in a 96m radius with powerful vertical and lateral push. 2. Damage - The CENTURION will kill anybody in the 96m blast radius instantly, assuming they are in a non-safe zone. This kind of kill goes right through shields. 3. Radiation - After the blast is over, the area will remain infected for approximately 2-3 minutes, dealing slow damage to anyone who enters the 96m blast radius in a non-safe zone. The CENTURION also has a harmless mode, in which it has no effect other than the visual and sound effects. The owner of the CENTURION will not be affected by the blast. As owner, you may stand at ground zero and be completely immune to any and all effects. The CENTURION is not designed, and will never BE designed, to cause lag and/or damage to the sim or grid. While some brief lag is inevitable with the script actions required to cause such widespread destruction, we have done our best to mitigate this and ensure that this lag does not last longer than a few seconds. COORDINATES: To set the target for your CENTURION, click on the missile to get the menu and select "Coordinates." The CENTURION will prompt you for the necessary information: speak this on open chat. Setting the destination for the CENTURION is simple, but must be done properly. The proper format looks like this: Jessie: 125,64,122 This will direct the CENTURION towards the sim Jessie at position (125,64,122). Note that the CENTURION will auto-correct the altitude of detonation to ground/sea level if the vector you have set is below ground/sea level. This means that setting the last number to 0 (as in "Jessie:125,64,0" ) will cause it to detonate at ground level at 125,64 in Jessie. Note also that the CENTURION will default to the center of the sim at ground level (128,128,0). This means that if you set the coordinates as simply "Jessie" it will land in Jessie at 128,128,0 (ground level). Likewise, if you set coordinates as "Jessie:125", the CENTURION will fill in the remaining values, making the target Jessie:125,128,0. The easiest way to set a target is to open your map, locate the sim you're attempting to target, and click on the spot you want to hit. Then copy the name of the sim from the map, and you can paste it into the chat bar along with the colon ( and the appropriate numbers when setting your target.Once set, the CENTURION will tell you its exact target; make ABSOLUTELY SURE this is accurate. The support passphrase for this product is "Manhattan Project." LAUNCHING: Once you have armed your CENTURION and it has accepted the coordinates, click on the missile to launch it. Once launched, it will occasionally inform you of its progress towards its destination. If it goes silent for more than, say, 2 full minutes, you may safely assume that it has been the victim of a dead or missing sim in its path. The CENTURION will inform you when it detonates. INTERSIM GUIDANCE SYSTEM (IGS): IGS is an experimental system still under development by Labs. It enables an equipped projectile to move between contiguous sims. It is important to understand the limitations and opportunities such a system presents: 1. IGS may only move an object between contiguous sims, meaning sims that are connected to each other by other sims. No object can cross sims that do not exist; therefore an IGS-equipped projectile cannot be used to transport the CENTURION from a private island to the main grid, for example. 2. While IGS is equipped with some dead-sim avoidance systems (for example, it knows enough to move from the southern sims in the main grid to the northern sims along the 1 sim-wide land bridge that connects them, IT IS UP TO YOU to ensure that it has a reasonably straight path between its launching position and its final target. 3. The effectiveness of this system, of course, is indirectly proportional to the distance its attempting to cover. This means that firing the CENTURION from 3 or 4 sims away is more likely to result in a successful trip than firing it from 12 sims away. 4. Your CENTURION is equipped to destroy itself in the event of a failed transit. If the intersim trip times out, the CENTURION will alert you and then implode, causing no damage to its surrounding environs. 5. Intersim travel is a tricky business, and your CENTURION will be subject to any sim quirks it may encounter along the way. If a sim in its path is down, for example, it may cause the CENTURION to fail in its transport attempt. If two attempted launches fail in a row, it may be necessary to move to another sim in order to alter the CENTURION'S flight path around a potentially dead or buggy sim. CAVEAT: This missile WILL cause grief to everybody in 96m of the blast radius if not set to harmless. Please use this weapon with discretion and care, and remember that in non-combat zones, the victims of your nuke will be informed by SL of who hit them and may choose to report you for ToS violation. Labs is not responsible for the consequences of product use. |

We had this same thread back last fall. But then it was the "friend" who crossed the Goreans.
"Quick advice needed: What to do if you get in trouble with Goreans? A friend of mine apparently had never heard of Goreans and knew nothing about them and wandered into one of their regions without seeing the warnings. When they asked her to leave, she made some smart ass remarks and since then there have been Goreans showing up and just staring at her and then sending her messages like "you've been marked and claimed." I explained about Goreans to her, but obviously someone has been pissed off. What should she do? Will they keep following her or were they just trying to put a scare into her?" Quick advice needed. Thanks for your help. /327/e4/220449/1.html _____________________

Okay, I know the OP is having a wind-up here. I could see that even if I'm wasn't wearin' my glasses. My serious answer would be...
Ignore it. They'll sniff around for a couple, sure, then they'll go away. Nuking them could, IMO, be potentially ARable. It would definitely lead to more drama. More than that, it's just really silly, even immature (in the childish way, not the child-like way). So maybe you did go to a Gor sim and not like what you heard, and maybe all the other stuff happened. So what? It's a big grid, and there are plenty of other places. Nuking them is no way to lessen anyone's aggression. Mari _____________________
