From: Sling Trebuchet ZOMG! There are only TWO alternatives?? Come along now! What a lame straw man argument. If a parcel owner wishes to keep people out, which method would I prefer? A homesecurity orb that ejects from the parcel after a warning. But maybe you were not aware that there was such an option? You should get out more. That option is available, but since I BOUGHT the orb, I prefer the teleport so they just go away completely.

call me stupid, but why dont they do this...
They stick the banline thing up and in the next version release of SL the banline is a box, instead of the lines going up into the sky the banline box is just that...a box, which has a roof ontop which is roughly 20 meters above the highest point of the owners building?
That way the sky is clear for explorers like myself to run around in our tardis and see the sights...

That way the sky is clear for explorers like myself to run around in our tardis and see the sights... The problem is, SL doesn't know what a "building" is. Is that prim 30 M above the terrain a roof panel, or a prim bird? SL can't tell. If I have a skybox at 750 M, does it make the banlines go all the way up to above the roof of that skybox? What is actually needed is permissions zones that are defined in 3D, and not just by the 2D parcel boundries. Like defining the diagonally opposite corners of a rectangular box area, and stating that anything inside that box is affected by the parcel access restrictions. and you'd need to be able to define multiple areas within a parcel, so a skybox and the house on the ground can both be covered, while allowing fliers to pass between.
