Christ, can we DROP THE BAN LINES discussion?
Not likely... this topic has been in debate since long before I first joined SL. Unless things change, this is likely to continue far into the future. :)

Not happy about Linden Labs purchase of XStreet (formerly SLX) and OnRez. Will this mean LL will ban resident run online shoping outlets in favor of their own?

So, my boyfriend and I are in one of his/our homes today, having some intimate time but we forgot to lock up. In comes a women, and we were polite to her but it was very obvious we were, umm, busy. But she stays there conversing as if we're having a sandwich, and tells us she' has been to his house before when he wasn't there.

Now, said boyfriend is a pleasant sort, and he's trying not to insult her so he says to her that she can come by and use his home anytime we're not there, but we're busy so, could she leave. But, instead of leaving, she calls on another friend! And this friend, is a huge pest and start using all the poseballs in the bedroom and telling him to f--k her! Of course, he's not having that, and because of that now she's calling him impotent!

The first women skaddled out of there, but the second women is now intent on doing whatever she can to piss us off. I'm getting seriously annoyed by this time. She's laying on the floor carrying on and i finally went over to her and adamently told her she was being rude, that we were very nice in saying they could use the house but now we'd had enough. He finally managed to push her out the door, and he locked it and closed all the blinds.

I can tell you, it really got me going! i'm usually pretty calm myself, but the blood was rushing out of me! Grrr!

I was fuming over this! I mean the nerve! Obviously to me, these two did this on purpose - this was no accident that they showed up in the house. My boyfriend, being the calm soul he is, really thought it was all accidental and just got out of hand until i pointed out to him that the 2nd women was "born" like a day ago!

Anyhoo - what is the best way to handle this. We have both of their names. Ignore it, send an abuse report, what?

All in a normal day of SL lol.

Well didn't make it all the way through the thread, but just ban and mute them both, and be done with it. It's not rude to ban and mute someone, it's a mature way of handling a problem so that it does not become ugly.

sighs....

here are the top responses for everytime this same "request" comes up:

Deal with it
although ugly banlines can be used by land owners well cause they can
FLY HIGHER, LL has lowered the ban lines to about what is it between 50-75? so if you are running into them still... or you may be hitting a security orb.
no one has the right to tell another what to do with their second life.
get over it
what makes you so special
my land, my sky, meet my banline
TROLL!

did i miss any?

this will continue to be a topic as along as someone responds to it. i offer a challenge for 2008: i dare the forum to go the entire year without mentioning:
Child Avas
Banlines
Security Orbs
SL Relationships vs RL Relationships
Sex
Landbots
Gorean
Griefing
Brenda's Lingerie

did i miss any?

I offer my own challenge: come up with a single post which covers *all* of these topics in a coherent fashion. Be sure to pose a question suitable to Resident Answers.

Almost off-the charts slutty. Shame on you and congratulations. -- Trout

FLY HIGHER!!!!! That is all... but seriously, just fly a little bit higher and you're fine.

Ok. Hadn't thought of that.
Standing on the ground on one my parcels. Neighbours on two boundaries have ban lines - nothing personal, they just like having ban lines.

Fly higher?
Of course. That's the solution to being visually griefed for 7 metres into your own property. ;)

Like many of the warty bits of SL, the gawdawful ban lines are a programmer's purely technical solution to a usability issue that they don't really comprehend.

LOL!
And a 'disturbance in the force' is when you bust the credit limit.

Yea, fly higher - we were high. Really high in fact. This particular house of his isn't at ground level - it's built up high already! They flew in! Just flying around in the sky, and dropped in like the Wicked Witch of the West!

One look at his private SL porn stash, and he'll be instantly convicted.

As long as I can take it with me into the joint, I'll plead guilty. Those places are great. Three squares and a cot to call your own. They have TV, libraries and workout rooms. It's way better than the Hanson infohub.

BTW, my home at Hanson has a new feature. Well, new to me. I've never noticed it before. It's an observation deck. Find the teleporter in the entrance or fly up there for a view of what makes Hanson so charming to me. Ugly, tacky builds, campers, adfarms, and general weirdness 360 degrees. I honestly laughed when I went up there the other night. It's almost endearing. lol - silly mainland.
