You want the premium members, in other words, people who pay LL to have 512 sm of land, some form of support and a bit of money thrown their way each month to have priority, over OTHER people, who chose NOT to pay LL for those privileges, but instead spend L in world to support YOUR business. I just have one question...can I still drink from the same water fountains that you do?

Hell, I'm getting ready to sell all my land so I can become the one of the tight-ass freeloaders that SL is made up of. And then I'm never gonna tip, buy anything, and I'm gonna beg for Lindens, because that's what everyone else does. I now own 8192 sq/m, soon to be zilch. I will probably just end up abandoning the land, since it will probably take about 6 months for someone who is not a tight-ass to actually buy it. 6 months of tier or take a loss and get out now... not really that hard of a decision.

BTW... I think free accounts are ok, as long as they help contribute to the SL economy, by spending.

I rent 4096m of mainland for l$4500 which is about £9 or $18.
Now if I had a premium account and wanted to pay a tier instead of rent it would cost £5.50 or $11 for the premium account ontop of that I would have to pay £12.50 or $25 tier amonth for 4096m bringing the total to £17.50 or $36 nearly double the price of renting with a basic account.
LOL im not a tightass Im not a noob I develope and I put alot of l$ back into the econemy the only reason im on a basic account is pure logic .
I dont beleave basic account holders put any less back into the sl econemy than premium account holders do but I can now afford a premium account and just wish there was a logical reason to have one.
We have seen many similar threads because this is an issue that needs to be addressed lets hope a linden is reading this this time .

Surely the point here though is that your rent money is going in the pocket of the guy you're renting from rather than to Linden Lab? (plus the argument that for your premium membership, if paid annually, you get back in stipend anyway, which has been argued to death in these forums already).

I'm concierge level for mainland, and own a private island on top, and although it would be nice to get fast track entry when the grid is full I'd much rather have the capacity increased and less empty sims... filled with "free" accounts or whatever.

i have a premium account..i also only have a 512 lot..
i get 400 a week which pays for most of my rent per week which is 500 per week on a double prim..
i get most of my 9.95 a month back just in that..
i don't need much more than a 512k because i am hardly there..thats about the only advantage i have seen in having a premium account in sl..
for basic and premium i have never looked at those accounts as less than a premium because since the day i came in and have been shopping i was the only premium out of my friends that came in with me..like 8 of us at the time and most of us were shopping right next to each other..

the ones not willing to put up the payment info are the ones i would agree need to be logged off during stress times because those are the bots and the majority of grievers and the ones that are camping and a lot of the strain on the system..
they want to come in and take rather than become part of the system because advertising leads them in here with the idea there is free money to be made here..
some do cross over and join the system but until they are basic or premium they aren't..
using the word free account is going to cause some confusion because free account is an account type that has two classes basic payment info and none no payment info..it's not the payment info used that defines the type of account between basic and premium.. it is if you paid for your account or not that sets it at free or not..

so using the word free will get some bad reactions since there are two types of free accounts..
in my opinion being basic or premium there is no difference..60% of my friends are basic accounts and thats just the ones that have told me..i never ask them cause i could care less how they got here just that i am glade they are here..

i think people that cannot get into sl come to the forums a little hot headed at times and don't mean to say the wrong things and do use wrong terms when venting..

most cases they are going to be more upset because in the lax to use the right terms people get offended and will defend..
if we said what we mean instead of meaning what we say there would be a lot less confusion and back tracking..
when i used to admin for a couple gaming forums there were always these rules being put up on posting edict we used to get from each new head admin that would come in hehehe..some were funny but they all made good sense..
things like:
if you would not say it to someone standing in front of them in real life don't say it in the forums..most cases it's a spark to a flame.
another was don't post angry you are only asking for it lol
and i think another was think hard before you post so you don't have to later lol
i used to get a kick out of the things people would come up with..

also ..i though at one time LL had restrictions of no pay info accounts.did they stop doing that? i mean it was like last summer when i heard the announcement i believe..or was it the summer before?
i thought it was the beginning of last summer though.

I pay my landlord he pays linden lab he dosnt get the land free lol.

And as for paying annual fees I dont want to I want to pay my rent monthly as I do in real life and most others do.
