I had NO idea that the hangout was a real wasps nest of anger.

The original plan was to pattern it after Bear Infohub.

I had NO idea anything was going on in teh Undying Thread. I had NO idea that the hangout was a real wasps nest of anger.

It's not. It's a great place. Newbies who come there are treated like... uh... visiting royalty.

This morning I blew my top on the undying thread. People had been fighting. Chris wanted to make sure that it didn't come inworld. Most of us are friends, or at least friendly acquaintances.

LOL jig is always sorry when she starts a thread that gets confrontational

check out some past threads and you will see

Rha, leave me alone. I didnt IM you. I am sorry - yes SORRY - someone did about the undying thread (?) Why should it have been me? I dont like the thread, I have always said so AS Jig - why would I use another name? That just doesnt make any sense.

I will say that someone does imitate me on occasion which I think is infantile. Maybe that person did it.

It was sent to the group as a whole. Everyone who receives group notices got it. I wasn't going to go through and single out people to send it to. It is a group matter, so the group got a notice.

I don't agree with Chris a lot but on this I'm with him 100%. I don't care who it involved and aren't even going to read the undying thread to find out.

In a goup such as "The Forum Cartel" there is likely to be occassional spill over, it's just human nature, and sometimes we just need a reminder of the Golden Rule it was formed under whether it was needed or not. Some newer members may not be aware that this is one of the few group rules and the only way a group like this can stay together.

We all luv SL, just in different ways, and discussion, occassionally heated but avoiding personal insults, should provoke openeness to other peoples views and ideas rather than trying to force opinions down other peoples throats.

OBTL :)

well it is nice to join in the group chat in world..i love that it is different than in here..that things don't carry over..
someone that i may be in a debate with or disagree with on some issues in here..we get along great and just giggle in there about anything..like shopping or whatever..

i read the notice and it makes sense..
i haven't been to the hangout yet..i'm still a little shy for some reason..but i remember hanging with the group on this one big shopping trip and it was a blast..

this is the oven more or less and in world seems more like the dinner table where everyone relaxes and enjoys hehehehehe :D

least that's how it seems to me ;)

Apologies for not having had a chance to read the notecard yet...

Two questions:

Does this include group chat?

How often does it happen before the kick? I really want to know.
I have yet to see a flame war in the club or in the group chat.

I hope that continues. I hope Chris's note was unnecessary (and I bet he does too).

It's easier to be nice when communication is more direct. There's just something about a a forum that makes it too easy to get nasty. I have to kick myself now and then and remind myself that I'm being an idiot.

You are amazing! You start a thread dragging out into the open an argument inside a thread that you claim to have no interest in, that you believe shouldn't even be allowed, regarding a place you never visit and you have the nerve to claim to not to want to get into a confrontation. ?
The question was about a notecard on a group ingame. I think it was innocently and genuinely asked. I had the same question when I saw it.

Sure, asking Chris would have been a good idea. But we've all done things that weren't the best idea.

I might as well start a thread talking about something that happened recently at Bedrock without naming names or what happened, just making vague hints to some kind of big goings-on, and ask all the SL Residents if it was necessary, it'd be just as relevant as this thread.
That would be different from most RA posts in what way?

It's totally not. This forum is, and that's what you're seeing here.

The cartel group is a very well-mannered, amusing group. Yeah, the group chat gets chatty sometimes, but I find it amusing. If you're easily annoyed by people asking odd questions or mentioning a bargain somewhere, disable the group chat or don't join.

You don't need to be a member to go there.

It's usually a relaxing place.

Well, I dunno. I don't go there. I didnt even know if anyone ever did. I come on to sl for such short times now and I stay on my land. Is Group Chat people talking IN the Hangout?? Again, I am not certain. True, I am not into "chatty" coz I am self-inverted and always say the wrong things. I can see its appeal for people. I just thought something happened there which we were all getting shafted for by this bloke. Sounded like a bad-tempered old crust.

You know, the problem for me is simple, I think I really do "come over" here as a real sarcastic bitch. Maybe I am.
