A Notice About Behaviour in The Hangout??

I'd rather that nobody uses the undying thread for any significant communications or discussions.

It gets far too many posts on far too many subjects to be good for anything other than amusement. And I can't even enjoy that amusement much, because I won't spend the time it would take to read enough of the posts to follow any of the subthreads there.

The whole idea of having multiple threads, each with its topic, is to allow us to focus our attention on the subjects that interest us.

I'm happy that y'all enjoy it. Just please don't try to use it for anything more significant, or to assume that those of us who are interested in and involved with the Hangout have the time to read more than a tiny fraction of the messages posted there.

I honestly don't have a clue about what was said in the Undying Thread (which I have always thought was a big mistake) or any confrontations in the Hangout.

I just wish we had enough in common to get along with each other, but I am really starting to doubt that.

I know I'm a baaad girl, but I have asked questions there - the kind that only merit one or two posts in reply. If I'd started a thread, it would have gone on and on and on...

Sort of tangential topic but I wonder if the undying thread can make it to exactly 100,000 posts with exactly 1,000,000 views at the moment they lock these forums.

you have been active enough in these forums to know that some folks (as mentioned, especially owners of "places" do not feel it is fair for "cartel/hangout" threads to be started here....

I think this thread is a big mistake.

I didnt have any hidden agenda. I saw it was from a person discussing forum and hangout and presumed (obviously incorrectly) that we could ask why the notice was discussing thread and hangou. I never read the undying thread. I didnt know I had committed a major faux pas.

I honestly was confused.

As to reasons? None.
Trying to get something started? I wanted to know why. I swear to whatever God I believe in that I have NOT a clue who was being referred to in that notice.

I will add to this taht I shall NOT read the undying thread to even find out what is being spoken about. It's a gossip column and Lindens should have shut it down long ago.

I dont gossip - the only name I have ever mentioned in sl is "hal" and that is not his real name. I gossip about myself. At least I can laugh at my own stupidities in sl and rl.

Jig, nobody in particular was being referred to. But there was a big row yesterday - I won't go into any more detail than that - and this morning some people expressed concern that the anger towards certain subjects from that thread might affect the way people treat each other when they're all in one place in the Hangout. Chris is the boss of that place (to put it simply) and the notice was just his saying "it had better not!" That's all.

Good point. I try hard on Forums to be interesting or say some interesting things. Anyway, it's the autumn where I am right now and I want to look at the leaves and feel the crisp air on my very real face.

It's too lovely outside to be trapped here in a budding confrontation. I'm going to kick my feet through the falling leaves.

I suppose someone must have told me the man had something to do with the hangout but it didnt dawn on me. I have rarely been there - except to measure my height. As I said before, the only communication I have ever had with the man was in forum and I dont think either he nor myself would in anyway call that a "communication". Hope you all iron things out.

Still dunno why you would not just ask the person who sent the notice... makes more sense to ask them, as they are the ones who would know why they sent it, and not those of us here, especially considering that not everyone here, is in the group...

(oh and I get it, you don't like the thread.. the big undead one... why repeat it...)
honestly I do wonder, was it one of your alts that im'd me when the thread took off, blaming me for it? saying they hated it and me for starting it...

anytime I see anyone say they dislike that thread, especially with the conviction you use... I have to wonder ... was it them that im'd me back then...
