Okay, now it's really time to stop this thread. There are many readers of this and I truly dont want anyone hurt or offended or saddened in ANY way, regardless of whatever they may think of me or what went on.

I realize that this can be funny to anyone who wasn't involved, and I suppose that's as it should be, but this whole business is not very funny for me.
Being one of the people who lost their temper, it was a personal failure for me. The fact that these forums are closing, that some others in the thread were being deliberating provoking by their bad behavior, just makes it worse. It was a wonderful thread at its best, and I think it still has a lot of good to play out, so it's unfortunate that it was the setting for all those days of negativity and abuse. I doubt that I will post as much as I used to, to this or any other forum. I certainly won't feel as free in doing so. Certainly Jig can have her dance over it. Of course Pep will crow over my failing. This is life. I can only blame myself for being upset at the bad behavior of others. But I do blame those who behaved badly for their bad behavior. |

I think forums, blogs, and so on more or less encourage bad behaviour. You have to sort of take it in stride . . . and not take it too seriously. More than that, you have to NOT blame yourself for any "loss of temper." It happens to everyone here at some point; no one thinks the worse of you for it, nor should you. And frankly, you weren't exactly over-the-top: if THAT was a "loss of temper" for you, then the worst you are capable of is a LOT milder than the normal postings of some others we can both name. I for one value your presence here because of your friendliness and cheerfulness. To lose that would be awful. Hang on, ok? _____________________
