Theres nothing wrong with showing a bit of flesh ,it can be sexy but lets just say some know how to do it with class and some just look cheap. If you walk around looking like meat on the slab you will attract flies.

I personally didn't find the OP's post offensive as she said she saw ads for anti-griefing devices with the wording "ward off perverts" - the ad's wording, not her's. It doesn't take long off OI to start seeing anti-griefing items for sale so it doesn't necessarily follow she was actively looking for them.

At any rate, in "Your World, Your Imagination" - some people find certain things objectionable. Other's don't. I personally have some issue with you immediately jumping in with the "Bible Belt" comment. SL and the internet are HUGE spaces and you might be surprised the variety of opinions there are...some from your so-called "Bible-Belters."

Hi Persephone. I think you're catastrophising. Nobody said anything about asking to get raped as you have suggested. Getting raped and attracting unwanted attention are two different things.
I recently watched a very interesting documentary about some studies that were done on people who had been bashed on the street. These people had been bashed more than once.
They attached motion sensor pads to these people and made them walk around whilst they recorded their movements and then they showed the resulting animations to some experts in the security field and also some people who were very street savvy and had been involved in gangs etc. and 9 times out of 10 the experts and ex gang members picked who the victims were by the way they carried themselves.
They then put these victims in a line up with other people and again they were picked by the way they carried themselves, their eye contact or lack of, the way they dressed etc..
Of course these people didnt deserve to get bashed but they definitely played an unconscious role in attracting that sort of attention. They looked like easy targets. Something about them shouted "come and get me". They were then trained to carry themselves differently.

Rape is an abhorrent crime. Blurring the very clear line between it and being harrassed by a few silly boys with detachable penises in second life is ridiculous. You can always click the mute button or better still the teleport button.
I dont dress like a prostitute in second life and I dont get harrassed simple as that.
