I still respond to both, and usually in the same tone as the posts/PMs were made in. If I had to choose, I would choose private notification. Because it avoids *gasp* stupid drahma that now everyone ELSE has to be subjected to in the forums. If they are respectful, then I will be like "cool, whatever". If not, well... you know what they say about leaving the door open for the wrong dogs to come home to.  The upshot, at least for me, is: I really don't need to know if you are ignoring me. Really. Unless you are someone important that I know and are (soon to be ex-) friends with and have a need to communicate with, ignore me at your leisure. I really won't mind, or care. |

(I just don't think the person who tried to scold you for posting about it, was justified.) Insinuate much? To reiterate, I'm not even against the ban, but you better damned believe that I care about RL freedoms being abridged to appease mass hysteria. In RL, I belong to a group that held its nose and went to court to defend freedom of expression, yes, even for the KKK. It's one thing to be offended by some pixels; it's quite another to barter one's RL freedoms for the expediency of political correctness. |

And Solar, I do apologize for what I said earlier. I crossed the line. 's ok Raudf. I'm pretty sure I've crossed a few too - I'm fairly rabid when it comes to the separation of reality and fantasy. Then again I guess that's purely because of what I've seen happen when people do not or cannot separate them. 's why some of the counter arguments made for this topic irked me so much.

Someone in the head space you are in probably shouldnt be ranting in an ageplay thread. Mostly, because ageplay is not child abuse and you get yourself excited about something that, while on the surface, may mimic certain aspects of that, in actuality has a completely different mechanism and intent. |

Asking someone to prove their claim is not the same as directly claiming the opposite. So I have no need to show any cards. If you KNOW you can't prove negatives, you shouldn't go around making arguments of them - that's intellectually dishonest. Although I admit, it's an awful nice escape hatch, saying something that can't be proven and then using that as a defense when somebody objects. "How can I prove that? It's unprovable!" Problem is, you just nullified your own argument. If you can't (or won't) back yourself up, how can you be taken seriously?
