From: Annousk Coba Im writing this under an alt account because i dont want the person who did this to me to be exposed..
I remember when speaking on the phone to her i thought her voice was slightly masculine.I almost thought she could possibly be male to female Transgender. I didnt bring it up with her bc i thought that is her business.
You will probably all make fun of me for falling for this person and i even hate myself for falling the way i did. I think the real reason behind you're using a different alt is not to expose yourself. Why give a damn about some freak who didn't care about you? But it's understandable. Seems to me you didn't really mind getting into a relationship with someone of the same sex. You admitted you thought her voice was masculine sounding. Hint, hint!! Not only this but you thought of the possibilty this person might be transgendered. And all this happened right from the jump. With all these bells going off you still proceeded to continue on and now you're trying to portray yourself as an unwilling victim. Sounds like in the back of your mind you knew or at least had an inkling there was a possibilty something might be up. Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way, shape or form taking this other persons side. I don't condone this type of behavior regardless what people may say. Those who play opposite sex alts and then proceed to take it far beyond the normal boundaries are just sick, perverted and twisted indiviuals who do this sort of thing for their own self gratification, their own self satisfaction. In response to what you said about believing this person didn't set out to hurt you. You're wrong. These indiviuals know exactly what their doing. They're not that naive they know they'll hurt whatever person they get involved with. They know exactly what they're doing. Call them whatever name they have whether it's transgendered, gay or what-have-you, the bottom line is people who go about doing this sort of thing are disgustingly sick.

From: Brenda Connolly No offense meant, but I think the OP could use some time away from SL, perhaps the Internet as well. You think?

From: Pie Serendipity It is pointless taking offence Rha, since you have no means of proving to me or most of the Forums that you are not a liar, and your attitude reflects both what an honest person would say and what a liar would say. I have not been hurt by liars in SL, just disappointed too often to be prepared to worry whether what anyone says to me is anything more than dialogue from a work of fiction. Does it make any difference unless and until there is rl contact, and there is still the scope for lies even then? Pie (You mentioned further down your post that you should trust others as far as you are comfortable; I don't feel comfortable trusting anyone, and despite making that transparent, I seem to have an overloaded friends list) I can still be offended by it, regardless if I have any proof of not being a liar. besides I do not have anything to prove, I am just simply offended, nothing more. hmmm if you do not trust them, are they really friends, or simply contacts (they so need to rename that thing, from friends to contacts)

I feel similar to Brenda on the topic. No way to know who's lying and who isn't, really. But what's more, I really do not *care* what someone puts on their IRS form each year. I was raised that "what do YOU do" is one of the rudest questions to ask anyway...I don't ask in RL, why would I here, in a virtual world full to the brim with fantasia.
(The point being that once you get to know someone well enough, those things will be apparent, and if you don't get to that point, then ya didn't need to know anyway...I think it is also a distrust of those who'd judge others by 'where they sit' in class/financial strata.)
I look at SL as one of those big masquerades - who is the cook and who is the queen? It hardly matters while the masks are on.
