Im sure Uvas will be able to provide you with many number of reports into shark induced fatalities in those areas where larger more agressive sharks are native.... I'm sure Uvas can also provide me with many statistics regarding the tonnage of sharks caught in various fisheries world wide. Shark is damn tasty too. _____________________

The Earth may be warming, but it is not caused by human activity. Just for kicks Google "global warming on Mars". You can't tell me humans are causing the polar ice caps on Mars to melt. and I thought it was the vast out pouring of hot air from you causing it Chris... oh and perhaps you can tell us on what you base your assessment a degree in physics ? meteorlogy maybe ? Id have thought that what happened in New Orleans would have been sufficient to worry any american over climate change but not you eh chris ? _____________________

On a serious note now though; personally, seeing large animals in the wild gives me pleasure, and that is reason enough to tolerate them. Still, like any resource they need to be managed to both control and preserve them - not for their benefit, but for mine. _____________________

As Chris has pointed out, humans' greater cognitive capacity allows them to assess risk and plan ahead. Chris would, I'm sure, use the large calibre firearm already mentionned. well as long as youre on a nice high hill when the ice caps melt you'll be okay....until the food runs out... Given that 7/8s of the icecaps are under water, and that water has a peculiar anomaly in it's physical chemistry that causes it to expand when freezing, rather than contract like most matter, the melting of the icecaps would cause sea levels to actually drop slightly. _____________________
