I have already commented elsewhere that these rules are those that already exist, but are not really enforced. Pep (but since I always observe them, I have nothing to worry about! )

From: lorena Topaz ROFL.Creating an alt signifies one is a NUT? Pray tell how so? There are numerous reasons for a person to create a forum alt. Why deny them the right to do so? How does it affect you and why does it bother you so much? That is the real issue here. Not the fact that some may or may not have one. FFS, we get it. You're an alt. In other posts you have admitted to trolling. You're a trolling alt. Hurray!! But 1 user is sure you're not the OP unless you paid someone to proofread your post! * From: lorena Topaz Alllow people the right to do as they wish, and stop wanting to control everyone. That is next to impossible for any human being to do. Be careful what you say of another, therein you will find the truth of yourself.Giggles. We can only assume you are giggling at your complete lack of ability to string a logical sentence together. *Note proper use of the words "you're"/"your"

The social aspect of the forums is important because it gives us a reason to hang around and BE here when people *do* need help.
If that gets cut away, I doubt that I'll stay. Or at least, I'll be around less.
It also helps SL because it is a way that we get to know each other, and gives us reasons to meet inworld.

And for me, one of those inworld meetings has been truly amazing.

From: lorena Topaz It seems the intellectuals are being snobs in that area. Perhaps and perhaps not. However, when I see a word (mostly from Pep and he as a really doosey in the other thread) that I haven't seen before, it prompts me to look up the definition learn how it is used and try to phonetically say it since I can't actually hear him using it in a sentence. One may view him and others as snobbish intellects, I on the other hand view it as an opportunity for self improvement.

From: Pserendipity Daniels tl;dr=too long; didn't read Pep (which says as much about the "reader" as the writer. ) It always amazes me that they never, ever seem to realize this (that in posting "tl;dr" in anything other than a joking sense, they are revealing something very unflattering about their own capacities and character).

The OP is probably one of us, someone from our midst! Anyway, it's not me and I also hope I'm not one of the two busy-body know-all women referred to by the OP either !!!

From: Hallie Halsey I'm not new to Second Life or to the forums. As long as I have been reading these threads, there is one nagging thing that just bugs the hell out of me, even though it isn't my business or place to say. We are all free to discuss anything we want. I just have to get this off my chest. Sorry.
There are two women on these threads, (of course I can't state the names because of TOS but I feel most will know who I am talking about,) that just really need to get a life. Whether it's a first or second life, I don't know, perhaps both. To me I label them as "busybodies" They have a comment to make in every thread with suggestions, innuendos, assumed expertise, etc. Don't these people work, or clean house, or something to keep them busy?
FYI Initials CL and SR A little early for a Friday thread, isn't it?

Damn I wish I had entered this thread on the ground floor.
Anyway, the OP did the internet equivalent of dividing by zero: She used an internet forum to complain about people 'needing to get a life.' The sad thing is, people who do this are somehow physiologically incapable of comprehending the irony.

Is it fear based? Are you,as one person put it, A BUSYBODY?.Personally I could care a less who is an alt or not. Has nothing to do with my SL,and doesn't affect me negatively. Alllow people the right to do as they wish, and stop wanting to control everyone. That is next to impossible for any human being to do. From: Treasure Ballinger Wow, were you referring to me here? No. And I think my further posting in this thread, which in the light of a new day strikes me as a paper thin troll attack, is counter productive, other than to echo Ms. Waldecott's astute post # 218. It never ceases to amaze and amuse, the lack of insight someone posting such a thing (as in the OP) evinces. I probably should've stopped posting after my initial reaction though, which was (to the OP) "If you are so busy, why do you care?"

Clarissa, you should probably take it as a compliment that that profoundly lonely* person wished so ardently for contact with you and with your co-winner, as to actually go register a new alt and then make a thread.
*Though on some level I have sympathy for lonely people, the sympathy is tempered by less friendly emotions in those cases in which they deal with their loneliness by being cowardly jerks. I hope for that person that he or she gets some counseling, as they say on the public service announcements.

I probably should've stopped posting after my initial reaction though, which was (to the OP) "If you are so busy, why do you care?" Thank you, Clarissa, for that simple 'No'. For some reason it bothered me all day, the possibility that someone thought I would actually create an alt to troll on the forum. I'd like to think that I can disagree with someone, respectfully, I hope, without being suspected of doing something like that. Actually, the fact that it bothered me, bothers me, lol. It tells me I'm too immersed in Second Life, and that the name of this thread could actually apply to me, too. Anyway, thanks again for responding, I appreciate it.
