Not anymore. Forum rules changed effective right this minute. (9/9/09) You are no longer allowed to discuss any topic that does not pertain to Second Life. And disciplinary actions in the Second Life forums can apply to your access to Second Life. In fact being banned from the Second Life forums can now result you your being banned from Second Life. Do you have a source for that? I hope you're joking - it would be draconian to ban someone for saying they thought someone else talked too much. . _____________________

I expect LL to make a blog announcement soon regarding the new commerce section on the blogs. The new posting guidelines are a part of that process. When all these things were announced on xstreet they also stated these forums would be closing down as well and converted to blog-o-forums along with the xstreet forums being shuttered today. Here is the new policy announcement: https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/features/blog/2009/02/25/second-life-discussion-guidelines No Off-Subject Posting. Do not post discussions into blogs or forums that are clearly designed for other discussions. The Second Life blogs and forums are specifically divided into separate channels and subject categories. FWIW, I didn't think the OP was an alt of yours. First person who came to mind, in fact, was someone I was disagreeing with in another thread. Scylla was also in that same thread (and disagreeing on some of the same things I was), which was the main active one at the time, and which (to me) lends credence to my first instinct. Scylla and I were quickly both targeted in the useless thread in question. But, it could be anybody. Wow, were you referring to me here? You and I were disagreeing in those 2 other threads, but before I say anything, I have to just ask if you were referring to me in the above statement. YOu are right, I AM to sane to create an alt for a forum post. That is REALLY hurtful, if true *IF* true, because Clarissa and I have had no problems in the past and I've often supported her here. At this point without knowing any different, I can only hope she was disagreeing with someone else also, and that she was not referring to me. Will have to wait to hear that from her though. Thanks for the vote of confidence, though. I wish there was a way to prove it. |

ROFL.Creating an alt signifies one is a NUT? Pray tell how so? There are numerous reasons for a person to create a forum alt. Why deny them the right to do so? How does it affect you and why does it bother you so much? That is the real issue here.Not the fact that some may or may not have one.
Is it fear based? Are you,as one person put it, A BUSYBODY?.Personally I could care a less who is an alt or not. Has nothing to do with my SL,and doesn't affect me negatively. Alllow people the right to do as they wish,and stop wanting to control everyone. That is next to impossible for any human being to do. Be careful what you say of another,therein you will find the truth of yourself.Giggles. |
