The OP's main accidently outed himself in this thread yesterday in response to one of Whimsycallie's posts on page two, but quickly deleted it. I saw that slip up, did a "Find more posts by..." because I did not remember seeing that person post in a long time, but when I came back to this thread, that post was gone.

What's the point of that? I have no particular problem with Phil, except his inability to follow and express an argument, but he has elected himself "straight man" giving me the opportunity to respond to him, allowing me to reiterate that Rhonda has behaved unacceptably by wishing cancer on me in an over-emotional over-reaction to my suggestion that she had thick thighs.

I thought it meant "I beat the lock". You learn something everyday. When I took my first faltering steps on the internet I thought LOL meant "Lots of love".

Good gracious. That must be a first. Someone who:

1. Reads one of my posts in haste
2. Makes a fool of themselves by suggesting I had made an error
3. Comes back to the thread and reads another of my posts questioning the suggestion
4. Recognises that *they* were in error
5. Posts to admit it

Now all you have to do is go back and amend your original post to avoid those with a lack of concentration noticing that you made an idiot of yourself. Or you could just do as Love does and pretend that you are not wrong and make up something about lies and fraud.

You are entirely wrong, of course. See my other comments about my simply responding to the posts of others appropriately, and that I am not personally upset, but I worry that more sensitive souls might incur the wrath of this deeply disturbed and foulmouthed person called Rhonda Huntress who wishes long term pain on those who criticise her avatar settings.

My mother was considered a witch by her pupils because of her intuition and insight and I have learned much from her, which makes me a good enough guesser to surprise people a lot of the time.

I will admit I have often regarded you as pompous and pretentious from your posts, and I have generally "assumed sarcasm as default". Until lately, your barbed tongue has generally been good-natured ribbing. But lately, you have been just plain mean. I don't know what has happened to effect this Jekyll & Hyde transformation of you, but I hope it reverses itself, and fast. I don't like this new you.

Any male from any reasonably civilized society knows full well one simply does not make derogatory comments about a woman's thighs and expect to walk away unscathed. Rhonda's reaction may have been extreme, but it was not completely unwarranted. You brought that upon yourself with your rather hateful comments. Her reaction may have been extreme, but it takes an extreme lack of class to do what you did to elicit such a response; and it takes an even *more* extreme lack of class to turn every thread into a soapbox upon which you express your indignation for what you brought upon yourself.

I don't expect to see an apology from you for inciting this riot. I would be pleasantly surprised if you did; but I'm not expecting it. I do hope, however, that you're man enough to drop this matter before it poisons the rest of this forum.

I'm not springing to Pep's defence entirely but I think people do have rotten weeks and that frustration can become evident in a forum. "Voice" is hard to convey in a silent form as this. That is the challenge of a world that is, essentially, silent.

But Pep is also a man of his generation and more importantly his "roots" even if he is mimicking this personality. If he is mimicking, then he's got the "type" perfectly. I dont enjoy the anti-femininism any more than anyone else does, but he's a typical English male from his background and class.

They're all like it, everyone of them despite what they may profess otherwise.

Trust me on this one. I've seen it happen with my own family. As the man ages he becomes a true mysogenist and a tosser. The Americans say "curmudgeon" in a generaous sense. I know different. Only a few weeks ago I was YELLED at by an old codger for the colour of my Burberry scarf!! Bad tempered old git. That's Pep also. They resent ageing and they despise youth and gentleness and teh feminine mystique coz they just dont understand it. Buy him a week's viwing of teh "Vagina Monologues". That might help.

I have no intention nor need to edit my post to make it appear that I didn't make a mistake. I have no problem admitting when I make mistakes.

It looks like we will have to agree to disagree about the issue of why you keep bringing up a past thread, as I have no intention of banging my head against a brick wall. However if you are so concerned about others feelings you feel the need to keep warning them maybe you could take into account the useless and snotty comments you keep making when people post legitimate questions.

And you have not surprised me in the slightest with your guessing "skills" as you are completely wrong about my EL status. Perhaps you didn't learn as much from your mother as you thought? Or maybe it wasn't her insight and intuition that had her pupils considering she was a witch? Maybe you could clarify for me exactly what mistake I have made.
