From: Prokofy Neva What's sad to me about your post, Coco, is that I know you are very intelligent and perceptive, but the fact that you still don't know the answers to these questions and still don't understand the land market in SL even being here nearly three months, is that because there is a horrible, vicious backlash against the land dealers and a constant effort to misportray them, and never educate anybody about these issues. I try to work this topic myself and even hold classes sometimes but it's really overwhelming. Umm..huh??? All anyone has to do is either ask, or look for themselves... Over dramatize much?

I agree with Amy, everyone quotes including myself. I just realized that its pointless to ignore when you end up seeing the entire conversation. I'm just going to not reply to certain people as they have proven that my efforts to give them my pov is a waste of my time and theirs. Some people you just can't talk to sadly.

I think the Bearopolis on Athens or whatever that Aimee is going on and on about will pretty much show you the line-up. Hmm. My bear, and my partner's bear are in the "Bearopolis" in Athens. So now I'm FIC? Hm. News to me!  Should I be expecting my membership card in the mail? From: Prokofy Neva The attitudes spread beyond the 12-48, but those 12-48 are certain personages who have taken on the role of the elite in the game, whether content-baron or trend-setter or tone-establisher and *they brook no dissent*.
You can always tell the FIC. They are the ones who come on to you with this "Let me tell you how it has to be" kind of tone. They want to set you straight. They want to explain how you have to do certain things to "get in". They come to you on your property and say, you know, you need to change your delivery style and be constructive, etc. I was thinking about the bears and which ones are there, and while I haven't had 10 tons of exposure to all of them, I have NEVER found a single person who has a bear in Athens to be anything like you just said. Not to me, personally, and I never have interpreted their attitudes on the forums to others to be that way. Guess maybe, with consideration for the fact that there is no tone of voice, everybody can interpret the same string of words differently. *shrugs* Of course, you'll probably chalk up what I have to say as being the words of a poor, insignificant peon who is trying to make her way into the FIC - or at least into its good graces, and therefore dismiss it out of hand. Ah well. C'est la vie! Also - this thing about "setting you straight" and telling you "you know, you need to change your delivery style and be constructive" - well, believe it or not, there has been a time or two where I've read entirely through a post you've made, and read it carefully, and found that I agreed with you - EXCEPT... Have you never heard the expression "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar?" If you have a point, and you can drive it home and be patient, concise and willing to accept the validity of opposing viewpoints even if you STILL disagree, you will find that people CAN sometimes be swayed to - if not totally agree - at least see your point of view, too. In closing, I'll say this: I DO think there is a Feted Inner Core. I just don't think it has the evil motives that you seem to like to attribute to it, Prokofy. Typically there is a FIC in every society, as David said. It's a group of people who are admired... yes, celebrated, even. What an appropriate word. But, give us all a little credit, would you please, Prokofy? Maybe this FIC that exists is there because we've found traits in the members or talents in them that we LEGITIMATELY admire. That we want to celebrate. If you are FIC, be proud of it. Tattoo it on your forehead! (Oh, and could a member of it please be sure to give us a definitive headcount.)
