What, you can't just say "You're right, Ursula... I do use polls to bolster my opinions, even though I recognize they are scientifically invalid." How can there be "more accurate results soon" if its "merely a straw poll?" Something that is inherently inaccurate and invalid will not become "more accurate" no matter how many people post. Or are you psychic, already claiming a majority on that answer because you believe it will eventually become one? What's next, you claim that your favorite candidate IS president because you believe he eventually WILL be?

I think it's not too hard to figure out that most people in a poll, even one as "unscientific" as this, agree that there is an elite in the game that has the ear of the game devs.

That's the case of every single game in the universe, and most life situations.

And it's reasonable to assume that out of 27,000, there are 12-48 really influential biggies.

And that's what most people were putting. So I pointed that out.

Then a few oldbies, panicking that the jig was up, began deploying alts, trials, friends, anyone they can grab to get to vote for that other option most people weren't picking, which is that "it is all in a certain person's head," i.e. me.

But I was confident that this would right itself because I think a lot of people who read the forums, even being an admitted tiny minority of the game, think the issue is that there are 12-48 people who are the elites in the game who influence the game devs. You'd think that with the Internet and new more democratic and empowering technology like Ims and 3ds worlds we could get out of that DeGrassi high school that Ingrid is always flashing, but we can't. Human nature is human nature. Nobody how many fancy instant direct democratic real-time polls and 3-D worlds and interactivity you have, there will always be some fucktard trying to step on somebody else to make his way up in the world.

That's all I meant. I've always said it was a straw poll, and never said it was scientific, precisely because of alts and little networks of friends who vote in little posses.

If you want to twist my words saying it is "more accurate" if it doesn't have a storm of fixed votes coming in from the FIC, and saying that this is somehow a reneging of my previous statement that it isn't scientific (false equating the term "more accurate" with "scientific" -- then do that. You'll discredit yourself, and add fuel to the perception that yeah, the game is run by these few.

If the poll never rights itself back to the obvious flow it had, before it was spammed by FIC, well, ah, such is life. We all know the score.

I know how many alts I have. And I know how many friendship cards I have. And there is no question that I have an overwhelming greater number of friendship cards.

Alts are for pansies.

How could you possibly know that this has happened? You assume that a certain thing must be happening because the results aren't going the way you like. You assume that there's no way it could be possible that the results just happen to be the way they are because that's how folks are voting. Is it that hard to believe that you aren't the barometer of what most people think?

Obvious to you, maybe... You are assuming that it must be a result of FIC spamming just to thwart you, when there is a very real possibility that the results just aren't going the way you like.
