In accordance with my neighbors wishes, and in an effort to show good faith, I have stopped the prims from spinning so fast. I have also removed the land from re-sale to show my intent to build a musuem.

You're missing the point. Talen doesn't care much about the build. He just loathes the bunghole who built it.

so when it happens to talen it's about things that need tp, and when it happens to anyone else it's about the freedom to build whatever you want on your land.

I'll try to explain this without sounding like I'm speaking for anyone. Apparently, one can infer plenty from my otherwise flippant reply.

The person who put up this build has a history of being "obnoxiously griefy" (just a phrase I coined off the top of my head). The person trots around the place invoking names of other griefers who were eventually banned from SL. His replies to this thread are laced with a cartoonish smug attitude about the whole situation. He's practically orgasmic over the attention.

I dunno. Fine by me if you just want to be a smartass. As I'm one too. Only thing I was really hoping this thread would do is bring attention to this griefer and get him out of here.
It's not a personal crusade of mine though.

For the sake of the other residents who are quietly stewing over this, I'll step away from this thread. It wasn't my intent to distract anyone from the situation, that being a well-known griefer is harassing the residents in Sage/Rose area.

On that note, if anyone swings by the Sage/Rose area and sees this build and finds it objectionable, please feel free to abuse report. You're not obliged to though. The Linden present deleted part of the build and said to AR again if the build persists, which gave me a flicker of hope that it is something they do consider objectionable.

Stone, the other thread was about a person who actually took the time to build something. If Wall street had built a smokestack I would care less.. the other thread it was even said and noted that the builder wasnt trying to extort anyone and his land was set for sale at a modest price.

THis case alby intentionally threw up grimmy prims on purpose and set the land (16m2 ) for sale for $599. You can defend (edited) all you want....plain and simple he wants the attention and I aim to give it to him because the more attention he gets the closer he gets to the door.

You make it difficult for people like me to argue in defense of landowners' rights when you pull crap like this. Are you trying to make a point, like, "We could use land zoning" or "we need better policies for griefers"? The point has been made over and over. You're nothing new and not original.

If you want your museum to be succesful, start by being less of a crappy neighbor.

Actually that build was a misguided attempt to grief back someone that damaged him, and even if i can understand the frustration i think that answering to grief with grief is a bad idea, because it affects the whole neightborhood. And no, the price was not modest for a 512 sqmeters of not really desirable water.



I think he is not defending anyone, he is just pointing out that the same arguments that you used to defend the smokestacks can be easily stretched to defend the griefing build you posted about. I think it should be removed myself, but you can't really complain if someone uses your words against you. When adressing such kind of problems one should always ask himself "what if it happens to me?".

I saw the persons build and the sale price. The price was in line with land prices not $37 a meter like ol Wall Street is ( or was ) trying to extort. Also the person had a real build and honestly it looked good. Whether or not there was motive to get someone back I don't know....but if that was built next to me I wouldn't mind it. What Wall built isn't a build or an advertisement...he's trying to be like grimmy and grief people intentionally and he's not too good at it.




As for my words being used against me I considered that before I posted....again the other post was about a real build on a peice of land for sale at going rates. What is ontop of my border and others in the sim are spinning cubes with pictures of a known griefer on them with the land set to extreme price...of course now he took it off the market just so he can say that wasnt his intent.

Personally I don't care about the build as much as I care about the person behind it. This isn't Wall Streets first or last grief attempt and he deserves no less than to be shown the door. Before this he was Shepp Proudfoot and we all know who he really is. The real intent of the thread was to call out a known asshole yet again.
