To me? Nothing yet.. a couple of comments that made me laugh.. a few that I take as compliments... But absolutely nothing I'd take personally -- simply because none of you know me personally..
And even if you did - hell half the crap said here would still make me laugh.
Siggy.

From: Cristiano Midnight You know that I am a huge fan. However, I have to agree, I found the remark particularly disturbing. It is one thing to spar with someone and question their intelligence or make some quip about their personality. It is quite another to make the implication that they are so pathetic they probably would have committed suicide by now. What's important to know about the quote is that it is crafted as black humor, not an insult. It is a (pulp) fictional narrative for the person-of-interest's notable absence, which in two sentences tells a dark story with allusions to poverty, loneliness, and resignation. I very much enjoy the finish which explains the person-of-interest's sudden surprise return as being due to a comic failure of a kitschy accessory. If Quentin Tarantino had a sig, this would be it. Additionally, the quote has nothing to do with the person of interest. It's a black little number I've been tossing around for a while waiting for a fun time to spring it. I recognize that it's use was deviant, however it was no personal attack. Thus it made my sig line, because I realized I had crafted a piece of black humor that was employed in a deviant fashion that resulted in a formal warning from an authority figure. I like stuff like that. A lot. As for deference to the suicidal or depressed, I would say its lack of deference is precisely what makes it black. For those who are truly disturbed by it, I recommend first never setting foot into a Hot Topic and second placing me on their ignore list. ~Ulrika~

One can be provocative and still show some semblance of decency and consideration for others.

The one thing I've seen here that raised my brows more than anything else was someone being accussed of using their SL-related website to snatch IP numbers, out alts and track down RL information on people. It wasn't just a personal attack about the victims character and ethics, it was an outright paranoid, dellusional lie, and libel to boot.

Is this also what made you an intellectual? No really I am curious.

From: Cristiano Midnight Ulrika,
You know that I am a huge fan. However, I have to agree, I found the remark particularly disturbing. It is one thing to spar with someone and question their intelligence or make some quip about their personality. It is quite another to make the implication that they are so pathetic they probably would have committed suicide by now. There are many people who suffer from severe depression and struggle sometimes moment to moment with the idea of not killing themselves, and pretty much live their lives being passively suicidal. I don't think, even in the case of it being a joke, that you realize the impact a statement like that has. Having had my best friend commit suicide, and a family member try, I can tell you that words like that do resonate a lot farther than you probably intended them to.
I hope you will have the decency to remove it from your signature. Well stated Cris. I agree as well that this was one of the worst I've seen (despite the later explanation, it still leaves a knot in my gut to read it). And many know there is no love lost between me and the person that statement was posted to. I just still don't like it. I never put anyone on ignore though, so I'll just have to try and glaze over that sig. The other "worst personal attack" I've seen would be the one that Jon talks about in her post.

From: Susie Boffin I can't deny that the worst I have suffered was by 2 males who spoke to me like I was a 4 year old child who needed to be chastised for her idiotic ideas. I took it as typical male arrorgance and now they are on my poop list forever.
Oh and by the way sexism does exist in the forums just as it does in Second Life.
How do you spell arrogance anyway? Oooh! I have to agree with this one. I dont know of which people you speak, but some of the worst personal attacks I have had to suffer here were from folks who were forum "stars" to everyone else, "nice guys" treating me like a piece of crap because I am female and not only not noticing they are doing it but having no one else notice either. That kind of condescending chauvanist crap by people like "Nose Chew" is the only stuff outside of Ulrika that ever got me really really upset. I would rather be told to "f*ck off" or have a direct insult than to be patted on the head by a bigot in a public forum.

I do believe I win at this anyways --the level of personal attack I used to recieve regularly at the hands of one Mr. Stygian makes all other personal attacks on this board utterly mundane.

From: Merwan Marker WTF?????????? It's just humor, Merwan. I believe it's taken directly from a Simpson's quote substituting the original "sir" with "ma'am". Not to wax philosophical in the midst of a reference to Hitler but I never realized that I had, hands down, crafted the most devastating and disturbing retort that the forums had ever seen. What's interesting is that to me it is light fare, merely a little black humor amidst the backdrop of the more pedestrian and vulgar name calling. I wonder what would have happened if I really had created a larger toe-curling Stephen-King-esque piece with some real effort behind it. EDIT: In the time it took me to make this post, the word "Hitler" has been edited out of the entire thread. Given that it wasn't used as an insult and that it's not being used to promote neo-Nazi ideology, I don't see why it couldn't stay. ~Ulrika~

From: Eboni Khan The post last weekend where someone said that a resident made them want to change their position on abortion (from pro-life to pro-choice), but the post was edited out or I would link it. It stood out to me as the single worst thing I have ever read in forums and I will never forget that post or forget who made the post. The motel 6 and the belt is a close second... I have just been accused of being the one to make this awful statement regarding what a person said to someone about their abortion choice based on their words. I would NEVER say something like that. Another person stated it and I never even saw it. I only agreed with Eboni when she mentioned it in another thread that I agreed that was an awful statement. So for the record, if anyone thinks I stated this horrible thing. I did not.

OMG, you can't say Hitler in forums? LOL This is what I imagine public school is like in California. Political Correctness taken to staggering and frightening levels.
It is nice to see that Ulrika's quote of love in her signature is allowed to soldier on in these forums.
Damn, these forums are a joke.
