I was in the military for 13 years before I was medically retired. While it would be nice for LL to make arrangements for folks who deploy, I personally don't see any reason why they should be compelled to. You have to make lots of small sacrifices like this in the military. Most of us learn to accept it. Those who don't get out and do something else. Sorry, Billy, but I don't agree.

Example Situation: Some thug comes to your house, steals valuables, vandalizes the place, and leaves a note saying he'll be back the next night. Do you: (a) Wait for him to come back (b) Get the police to go arrest his ass? Obviously (b). Now, this is defending yourself, even though the police are not doing the job physically on your property. Now, you can make an argument that the police are at the wrong house in Iraq, and I'd agree, but it does not change the fact that you can be defending yourself away from home. Did you forget World War II? Should the US have sat in the US and waited for Japan to attack the US again? Of course not. Edit: and a country, by definition, is nationalist. It's to what degree that is the real question. _____________________

All countries are nationalist by definition. I would not imagine your country has only ever fought wars on its own soil and has no troops anywhere else in the world. _____________________
