I think what Taco did was awesome. Especially since it got such a rise. Without faces these shots are pretty harmless and anonymous... To see everyone scream and rant just reminds me how petty people can be. Yeah. It was AWESOME! It stretched the boundaries of SL. Of all the possible outlets for expression this one is AMAZING. OH the impact! It will be felt for generations to come!!!! _____________________

I don't have a cause. I could not care less about this upskirt museum. Fighting for? That's laughable. I stated that one person struck me as petty and then explained why this museum would not bother me. I am not fighting for anyone or anything. SL is a somewhat amusing pastime. After my first post I was strictly answering people's questions.  That was a nice try, though. Oh? is that why you deride those who don't compartmentalize? If you could 'care less' then why are you here riding an agenda? Why are you defending? You, whether you care to admit it or not, definately "care". Spare me the rhetoric. _____________________

I wouldn't say it was brilliant -- or even clever. I'm just always amused to see stuff like this actually work. It was a successful "prank" that lit a very amusing fire. Taco admitted to why he did it. Dwell and intention. I just enjoy it for other reasons.

Him being abused and this being in the general section are different issues(as opposed to the issue of him just offending a bunch of people). I'd agree that ti both doesn't belong here and that any abuse he gets is deserved. When one sets out to peeve people off they have to accept that people could very well actually get peeved off.
It's like saying "OMFG how dare you be offended! I was trying to offend you!" I still find the overall result amusing though. |

Filing abuse reports against Taco Rubio, and encourage others to do so also, may be a more effective way to express concern about his actions than commenting in the forums.
Abuse Reports need not be limited to abuse against one's self, nor need you increase Taco Rubio's dwell by visiting the display yourself. The Linden Lab employes charged with responding to the abuse report can make an inspection for him or her self. At the bottom of the Community Standards page it states as follows: Reporting Abuse Residents should report violations of the Community Standards using the Abuse Reporter tool located under the Help menu in the in-world tool bar. Every Abuse Report is individually investigated, and the identity of the reporter is kept strictly confidential. If you need immediate assistance, in-world Liaisons may be available to help. Look for Residents with the last name Linden. ------------------------------------------------- I sent in my abuse report saying: Taco Rubio's "Upskirt" screenshots at Whinlatter 168, 78 taken without permision and displayed without permission in my view violate the community standards policy in the following manner: Section 1: The use of derogatory or demeaning language or images in reference to another Resident's race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation is never allowed in Second Life. I consider Taco Rubio's display to be derogatory or demeaning use of images in reference to another Resident's gender. Remotely monitoring conversations, posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without consent are all prohibited in Second Life and on the Second Life Forums. I believe Taco Rubio's "Upskirt" display of Avatar's genital areas without permission violates a Resident's reasonable level of privacy. If remote monitoring of conversations and sharing of chat logs without consent is outlawed by section 4 then so should remote monitoring of avatar genital area's and displaying said images without consent. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ I'm not trying to spark further debate about the matter here, just trying to get those who feel his behavior constitutes abuse to file official abuse reports. It might be more effective to file separate reports for each perceived violation, and of course, it's more likely action will be taken if many file reports than if few do, so encourage those who share your views to also file abuse reports against Taco Rubio's upskirt picture display. -------------------------------------------- edit: The above examples should be separated by clause and trimmed to the bone before pasting into the abuse report text edit control, as i discovered once I went to file what turned out to be three abuse reports. |

Thank you Chuck, and your point is pretty much my conclusion. Sparring over this issue in the forums was engaging for a while. But as we near the 40 page mark two things have become clear:
1. Minds are not going to change on this issue. 2. 40 pages are just too much for newcomers to read, so they are mostly going to restate previously addressed issues. So it boils down to this. If Taco's opinions on SL consent for genital photos are something you believe in, visit Taco's museum and drop him a donation. If this is something you think is a TOS violation, or should be, file an abuse report. If the Lindens take no action then it will be an issue between you and the Lindens. WWAD? (What Would Aimee Do?). At this time I have not filed an abuse report against Taco. I WILL file a harassment complaint if I find an upskirt picture of ME. Since Taco has declared sneaking as a protected artistic right, I may never KNOW if I am on display somewhere in the ever growing SL world. We will all have to rely on our friends to give each other the heads-up when one of these images is spotted. As a rule, I make it a point to wear underwear under skirts, but sometimes while working on *PREEN* outfits I will be in a flurry of wardrobe changes and I may forget something. To Taco, forgetting is implied consent, therefore your image is HIS. This is not a debate, the debate is over. It's just a reminder to everybody that...well...Taco is out there! Watch you're backsides girls and look out for each other.  On a related note, I was working on *PREEN* promo images for the upcoming winter release and I noticed one of the images was an upskirt!! This is not technically "art" as the breath-taking model (Mistress Midnight) gave consent for the photo to be taken, for it to be used in promos, and for it to be posted here. I decided to post a reply on this topic because I see that my avi pic is in the museum. Im not offended by the pic of my panties, as Im sure many of the swim suits my avi wears show more than that pic did. I dont think Taco did it to hurt people...he wanted to stir things up ......and he did. If he had shown names and faces etc....then yes I think he should get consent. As it is now....its pretty generic.
I personally find it more embarrassing to port into an event and find out my clothes or hair havent arrived at the same time.....ROFL! OMG do you think they do that to us on purpose...some of those Lindens are pretty wild n crazy......ok sorry my mind is wandering...... My point is that this is a game...for adults...questionable things happen all the time...Taco likes to teeter right on the edge of what is a fine line for many people.....in this particular instance....I think he has done it in a way that it cant really be defined as abuse....since the pixels cannot be identified and connected to actual avatars......for all we know...most of those pics are photoshopped....this could all be an elaborate scheme...Hmmm..... |
