Great post Kenz! You inspired me to try a little exercise of my own. What would Prok sound like if unburdened by her soul crushing mental illness? From: Non-Asswipe Prokofy Neva Hey guys, lets throw around some ideas about how we can improve the state of land security in SL. I understand that people want privacy and the land security tools the Lindens gave us are somewhat lacking, but there MUST be a better way than using the TP-Home scripts. Neph brought up some great points and I think it could be productive if we expanded on those.
Regarding bounce scripts, it seems like there are a few different ideas out there. Aimee has some ideas about letting users set their own push susceptibility. Are there any programmers reading that could let us know how difficult this would be to implement? How about removing the "push" from all the LSL scriopts out there and strictly enforcing its use for now on? Would that require more manpower to police users?
Looking forward to your input. Gotta run, can't be posting entire books in the forums...I DO have a life after all LOL! Bye guys.
Whoa. Creepy to even think about.

From: someone Who cares if businesses that may or may not make security systems who depend on it's existence go down the tubes! The community isn't going to support businesses that uniformly provide a negative experience for anyone innocently flying over a house, even in the name of providing dubious "security" to a few. The land tools coded by the Lindens have enough features to ban avs from lots. Nolan has had to make use of a lot more really nutty poetry and crazy pictures as he has had to drop his normal repetoire of personal insult, blackmail, and threats to reveal RL information, or action revelation of RL information. I don't know if the "artistic" result is really a welcome improvement, because it continues to raise disturbing questions about mental health.

Whoa. Creepy to even think about. No, I don't adapt a fake community helper persona like so many tekkie wiki-ists. And I wouldn't make and of those points. And no, I don't suffer from any mental-illnesses, although you appear to suffer from a soul-crushing lack of decency and empathy and will join in any pack of jackals you find on this forum, using whatever unlawfully-distributed information you can gather. You've been abuse-reported.

The Prokofy

i like how this ends. The only honest and true thing prok has ever said. "i don't know". From: Prokofy Neva
If Lindens suggest that henceforth, instead of getting rid of these victimizing monstrosities, players are going to have to bone up on yet another feature and lose yet another aspect of their freedom to pernicious scripterati, they're going to be furious. Once they figure it out, it might tilt them to open rebellion, I don't know.
So if all of these people are going to be furious...where are they now? Why aren't they threatening the end of the world as we speak? Why are you,"The Prokofy", the only voice saying that this scripting feature should be outright demolished? Honestly if you were more than one voice i might take you seriously. But all we hear is how we are evil and how Prokofy is not. How The Prokofy has endless community members agreeing with it. It's obvious some folks aren't happy about this being bounced stuff, but instead of crying that SL is being taken over by your various(and humorously named) sinister groups and demanding that only your way is correct....you could hear other opinions? possibly without demeaning those who present them? It's in the best interest of The Prokofy to work with this community instead of completely against it.

Now I have a friend named Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla, And I could say that "Rufus found a kangaroo That followed Rufus home And now that kangaroo belongs... To Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla." Whew! I could say that, but I don't have to! Because I got pronouns, I can say, "He found a kangaroo that followed him home And now it is his." You see, "he", "him" and "his" are pronouns Replacing the noun "Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla", A very proper noun, And "it" is a pronoun replacing the noun "kangaroo"!
Now come on...
Now Rufus has a sister named Rafaella Gabriela Sarsaparilla, If she found a kangaroo I'd say to you "She found a kangaroo that followed her home And now it is hers." But I can't say that... 'Cause she found an aardvark That fell in love with her and they're so happy.
And my name is Albert Andreas Armadillo {No relation to the Sarsaparillas...} Because of pronouns I can say "I wish she would find a rhinoceros for me, And we'd be happy." You see, a pronoun was made to take the place of a noun. 'Cause saying all those nouns over and over Can really wear you down.
Now I could tell you "Rafaella Gabriela and Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla and Albert Andreas Armadillo found An aardvark, a kangaroo and a rhinoceros. And now that aardvark and that kangaroo And that rhinoceros belong respectively to: Rafaella Gabriela Sarsaparilla And Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla And Albert Andreas Armadillo." Whew! Because of pronouns I can say, in this way, "We found them and they found us, And now they are ours and we're so happy!" {Thank you pronoun!!} You see, a pronoun was made to take the place of a noun. 'Cause saying all those nouns over and over Can really wear you down.
Sometimes when we take them all on the bus, People really raise a fuss. They start shouting out loud pronouns at us, like: "*Who* brought that rhinoceros on the bus?" and "*What* made that horrible noise?" and "Which one of 'em's getting off first?" "Who", "what" and "which" are special pronouns That can ask a question In the sense where you do not know the name of the noun.
But I know!
I have mine and she has hers and he has his, Do you have yours? They love us and we love them. What's ours is theirs, that's how it is with friends. And pronouns, you are really friends. Yeah! 'Cause saying all those nouns over and over Can really wear you down.

OH!! the pronoun! OK well... lets just get this over with and ban me completely...
I like David Valantino, she rocks I like Camie Cooper, he also rocks I like Sukkubus Fairlight, she is funny I like Pandastrong, he's witty I like Ulrika, she is smart I like Nylon, he has a nice av I like Magnum, she has passion. Not too fond of that Prokofy though.
I do not have ANY inside information on the RL gender of any of these people listed including Prokofy. For that matter I have not seen Prok's AV and Prok's profile/name is gender neutral.
So if I am to be punished, it will be on the basis of using gender specific pronouns in general. And if that happens I hope the no-pronoun rule is evenly enforced everywhere in the forums.

From: Prokofy Neva Those who go on conceding that one person has the right to inconvenience all the others to get what he wants have introduced and endorsed a concept that will cause the destruction of society. You might consider taking your own words of wisdom to heart sometime, Prok. In this case, this is applicable to you as well. Have a nice day!

How about we ask Prokofy: "he" or "she"? Which will it be? Honestly, I'm confused on how to refer to ye.

From: Prokofy Neva You've been abuse-reported. Oh Noes! :O Perhaps if you divert some of your energies you use spewing all over the forums into making a REAL name for yourself inside SL by creating, contributing, and helping out, you may not obsess so much about this "FIC" label you're so bitter about! Then maybe, JUST maybe after a year or two in SL you'll chuckle, as I do, reading about how new people complaining that after months of doing nothing at all, they're still nowhere in SL and resent others for earning what they haven't been able to yet. I think you need a hug! :)

This post started out as someone complaining about Excessive Over Active Secutiry Sytems .. for guarding land.
It ends up about Excessive Over Active Security Systems .. by the original poster.. concerning the use of a pronoun.
A tad bit ironic.

A tad bit ironic. Also notice that Prok was firmly against implementing my slider idea because he/she didn't want to place a burden on the Lindens. But he/she wasn't concerned about wasting their time reviewing this trumped up charge.

so...it's obvious that proks idea for control of this(accessive pushing) isn't acceptable, and aimees is a bit iffy though a good idea. what other ideas do we have?

From: Prokofy Neva There are two concepts of rights, positive and negative. With positive rights, the governments has to add something, let's say, a funded program to increase the participation of women in the work place, or a funded program to clean up toxic waste. With negative rights, all the government has to do is step out of the way and not coerce, i.e. in allowing freedom of expression. In modern societies, it is often an intertwining of the two that ensures actual freedoms, i.e. freedom of the press isn't much, if women and minorities don't get much access to mainstream media, so then the government might fund programs to do that.
Some good points, Prokofy, but I wonder if RL political concepts will translate into SL security concepts very well.
