I really dislike using more than one quote box, so I'm not going to do it anymore today.) Come on Chance, I simply posted a quote from a website, you would do well to not read into it too much. (If you don't mean to post a list of rules for posting on the forums, then maybe you could paraphrase them so they seem less like you're pointing to a list of rules and anyone who doesn't follow them is wrong wrong wrong.) I did, after all, admit to invoking the fallacies from time to time myself. I just feel that banging away at people with them on a consistent basis isn't very beneficial ... I understand your last point in the sense that the only way people are going to actually change their viewpoints is if they figure it out themselves, or are helped to feel like they figure it out themselves. Attacking people outright is only good for an ego boost or good fun. Groundhog day isn't an offday, it's the day that repeats over and over and over. I have no understanding of N'burg. But from the discussions it seems like she was the "president/face/representitive" of the government, if you want to call it a government. If the president of the USA, or even the president of Disney was to publicly attack a person because of differing opinions, it would reflect on their country/company. That's why holding a public office or a position of authority over others place one in the unique situation. It *is* a government, and Ulrika is a representative as a citizen and as an SC position holder (the SC is responsible for making sure our Constitution is upheld as one duty). She is in one branch of the government, I'm in another. And actually it is myself and 4 others that are in the RA (the Representative Assembly) and we are the only elected branch of the government. One of the jobs of the RA is to promote the city. So if anyone is the "face" or "representative" of Neualtenburg, it would be us 5 RA members. Just as people in Taber, Ravenglass, Dreamland, Luskwood, Indigo, Midnight City or any other community sim/group are allowed to speak their minds on the forums so should citizens of Neualtenburg. The only difference between us and them is that we have a working government in place. The *only* time I would tell a Neualtenburger to keep the city and its other citizens in mind when talking would be if they were discussing Neualtenburg specifically. I'll be damned if I'm going to tell another human being what they can and cannot say on an off-topic issue that doesn't have squat to do with me. I am free to disagree or agree. But it would be a sad day in SL if the various communities started squelching the speech of their members outside the realm of their communities discussions.  And by the way, Nolan you stated in your last post that you had questions about Neualt based on Ulrika leaving? I'm happy to help answer anything that I have knowledge of. You are welcome to PM me if you wish to talk in private. I never have an issue talking about Neualt. _____________________

I guess that position is just as representative. On the forums everyone seems to connect her with n'burg. Maybe we could compare her to a senator or the head of the Government university. The point of my last point would still be valid imo. Maybe now you can get an idea of why she may feel driven out. See, I've been saying for over a year that Ulrika really cared about Neualt and all of us in it (we don't even have to all like each other, but we make that damn city and government work well). But no matter where Ulrika turned, people who disliked her used Neualt to beat her over the head. And 9 times out of 10, the person was ignorant and wrong in what they would say about the project. Maybe Ulrika just cares about us so much that she doesn't want us to have to fight ignorant people who use the city against her? Of course, this is just my speculation based on what I know of Ulrika and of Neualtenburg, but I bet I am at least partly right. _____________________
