lets face it, both sides have fucked up. They are too proud to back down now and fix the initial problem.

And why do you think the USA and Israel are incapable of targetting civillians? I'm curious to hear this one.

No, you're eager to hear this one, as I think that whatever my response, you already have yours ready to go.

However ... I don't think the US or Israel is incapable of deliberately targeting civilians, I just believe neither country would do such a thing. For a huge variety of reasons.

Public outcry
media attention
simply doesn't need to (this is the opposite of why terrorists DO attack civilians)
legalities
and finally it would be a big pain in the ass.

Were you perhaps waiting for me to say something along the lines of morality or ethics? Good and evil?

Sorry, try again.

However, I still prefer to call them terrorists since they carry out murderous attacks on civilians by choice. Indeed, civilians are their preferred target, not military.

The exact same thing could be said for Israel at the moment. Denying reciprocity in war perpetuates it.

~Ulrika~

So, you're saying Israel prefers to hit civilians. As in, given the choice between a military installation and a school bus, they'd pick the school bus?

I read it. It makes zero sense as do the majority of your posts.

BTW --irregardless isn't a word.

But it sounds so good. However if you're getting needlessly picky because you can't argue your way out of your hole, then let me respond in kind and suggest a spellchecker.

The warfare is asymmetric but the morality should be applied symmetrically.

Clarify? I'm not sure if that was a yes or no.

Well that's a vacuous reply.

hmm I wonder if this is what my drill instructor meant when he made us chant

"sicum pacaus parabellum" (sp)

Latin it means "to ensure peace, prepare for war"

The public is crying out. They don't care.
They own the media
Of course they need to. It generates fear. That's what terrorists do.
They don't care.
It's far easier to kill civilians than not to kill them.

This is on topic.
No, not really. But I'll step in it.

Could it have had anything to do with the 42,000 gallons of diesel fuel in the basement, and the fire that was burning out of control there?

Now, explain to me how this is on-topic.

PS. The fuel tank of a 767 only holds 24,000 gallons.

No it couldn't. Steel structures don't collapse from a simple fire. Also the fire wasn't burning out of control. It was barely burning. I know because I WAS THERE.

It's on topic because it was asked how the building in Qana suddenly fell after 7 hours.

yes they actually can, if the fire gets hot enough to weaken the steel

Really? Cause only 3 steel buildings have ever done so before in the history of steel buildings.

WTC #1, #2 and #7

Read about the Windsor Tower

You were where, exactly?

Also, I think it's a bit much to call it a "simple fire." Tossing a cigarette butt in a trash can and the papers catch on, that's a simple fire. A plane fully loaded with jet fuel crashing into a building? Not so simple.

We agree! It IS what terrorists do!

YAY we agree. Now we only have to agree on who the the terrorists are .. lets see

Kidnap people off the street and threaten to assassinate them if they don't get what they want ... check

Wrap their 'martyrs' in explosives and send them off to kill themselves in explosions in civilian areas ... check

Shoot rockets, missiles and bombs into civilian neighborhoods to kill innocents to generate fear so they enemy will capitulate to their demands .... check

Avoid confrontation with the enemy military whenever possible concentrating instead of innocents ... check

Make videos calling for the death and destruction of their enemies .... check

Saw off the heads of kidnapped hostages on TV ...... check

Um, no, nope, I just don't see the US or Israel doing any of the above. Just the terrorists.

where do you think? Downtown Manhattan in view of WTC #7 before it fell.

No plane crashed into Building #7 --are you high?

I'm basing this off the History Chanel special on 9/11

not being nitpicky, I thought it was building 5 that collapsed or was that the one with the massive fires in the top floors?

yeah that was pretty much a crock of shit. If the buildings fell according to those theories --the core would have still been standing.

just curious what do you think brought down the towers? since you were an eyewtiness and all  from what I saw on the program and my experience with explosives, I think they were fairly accurate. and what would have made the core any different than the rest of the building? hmm?

Than you are hopelessly naive.
I have trouble imagining Hamas leafleting a market before they send in the suicide bomber.

They are _trying_ to kill innocent people. They _want_ innocent people to be there when the bomb goes off. That's what _I_ mean when I talk about terrorists.

The IDF is trying to kill Hezbollah (who are trying to kill them), but Hezbollah has deliberately positioned itself to make that next to impossible without civilian casualties. Israel would clearly prefer that all of the non-combatants leave before the missle hits.

It will not surprise me if you deny (or avoid) this distinction, but I don't believe that it is beyond your understanding, so I will not call you naive.

No clue. But it sure wasn't just the planes hitting them. My guess would be they were brought down by controlled demolition.

And if you eye rolling is meant to imply that I wasn't an eyewitness, that's ridiculous.
