Can someone put on trivia that's not at midnight British time? Some of us have high-powered, stressful jobs to go to the next morning. (I, on the other hand, work in a local radio newsroom.)
Failing that, I'll put it on myself if someone tells me how! |

I don't see anything wrong with posting a shop opening -- provided that it's actually the first time your store is opening, like a "Grand Opening". I don't like events that are, like, "Store opening! Every day at 9am!". Or were you just being sarcastic? ![]() No indeed it was a genuine shop opening officially for the first time, tied in with a party. I erred on the side of caution by not posting it. It was a great party by the way. One of the amusing comments was "Garnet you seem to have lost your shirt". _____________________

Use our simple in-world event addition device. (snip) If you don't have an SLBoutique account, you can still add events, but they will have to be approved. Just to be Devil's Advocate, won't you have had to create an SLBoutique account in order to get the event addition device? (I did) _____________________

Features I'm planning on integrating:
(1) Remind me of this event with email/IM (2) Notify me of all events that this host runs (3) Notify me of all events in this sim (4) Ability to add recurring events (most likely through the web site) (5) Next three hours of events will be featured on the SLBoutique.com home page _____________________

Thank you, Flipper, I hope this works well. I intend to have a link to it on my properties, right next to the Helpind H.A.N.D. and Pathfinder's Picks dispensors. Any thoughts to distributing an singular website link display for people to put out on their land?
Something to consider down the road if this takes off...a categorized directory of cool builds. Currently, a consolidated listing of holiday displays would be handy. Maybe this could lead to some quality control jobs for site/event checkers to help you screen out someone putting up a lone Christmas tree at a yard sale and submitting it as a holiday display in the above mentioned example. _____________________

We have things in place for looking for events, you want to see only classes then use the drop down that is available. There are lots of things to offer in Sl and what may not appeal to one person may be what another is looking for. That is why you can use the drop down or key word search. I guess though some would rather complain about the small issues in SL than some of the real concerns like performance and so forth. Who are you to determine what is and isn't an issue? The events listing has been a mess and an ineffective method for finding and advertising alternative events as long as I've been here. LL has defined user retention to be an issue. Being unable to find the unique, different, and alternative events is an issue. Flipper doing this allows LL employees to focus on other issues, including performance, instead of diverting personnel to this issue. Not to mention if LL attempted this you'd have every host on the current event listing clamoring to be listed as different or unique. That's when you'd see a bunch of complainers. _____________________

Diggin' it, Flip. This sort of thing is a necessary step in getting the SL events situation back on track.

Sorry to interrupt Nolan's and Coco's pissing contest with a comment about the actual subject.
I just wanted to publically thank Flipper for doing this. I use SLBoutique a lot (cause the forums alone are not enough to keep me from my job ;p) already. This just makes something that's already great that much better. I work really hard to produce good and unique events for the Spa. It really sucks to hear people say "well I never look in events anymore cause they are all filled with crap" when I have events that don't fill that I've worked hard to find good hosts for and/or come up with unique ideas for the events themselves. Here's hoping this will be an end to that. Flipper have you considered at all a sort feature that will let you sort by venue and kind of see what the place is offering for, say, a week or a month? Different places put on different types of events usually and, for instance, what the Spa might offer would be completely different from what you might see over on the Elf Clan sim. Might help people to plan better if they could bring up a schedule of events for a specific venue and see special events that might be coming up and the like. I also know if such a feature were available it would movitivate me to post our events way in advance. Other than some loose ends, I have the Spa December Schedule ready to go and could put that all in now. Anyway its a thought. |

TY for doing this. I'm looking forward to find some events I might want to attend without sorting thru the dross on the inworld list.
