I think it may force some of the drama hounds to leave, get rid of some of the spread of tension and needless fighting, and force others in-world who spend most of their time on the forums; (in other words, it'd put the concentration of discussion and interaction where it belongs: on SL) ,

But i think also it could make LL a lot less accessible to residents. Showstoppers, exploits, 'unacceptable changes' and 'undocumented slip-in changes' won't really be able to be reacted to as quickly, and community support for certain changes or against certain changes will not be as easily demonstrated.

(example: the recent undocumented LOD changes, which were only reversed and remedied after demonstration of widespread support in the forums for their full repair.)

I guess we have seen it coming. This is why the resmod program was started, so we'd be so fed up, we wouldn't care when they closed the forums.

Help me get to 1000 posts before they pull the plug!

Very true. Maybe some decent blog aggregators need to be set up, so issues can traverse the community quickly? BEcause God knows if something happens on the weekend, LLab won't do anything til Monday.

Hmm...looks like they got tired with being called on all of the mistakes that they've been making over the last few months, and instead of dealing with the mistakes, have instead decided to try to silence the criticism by eliminating the forum where it shows up.

Well, that's their privilege, but it won't stop the criticism, it'll likely just move to 3rd party forums, where they'll have even *less* control over it.

So, what's everyone's opinion about the best 3rd party SL related forum site?
