Hey that is the award I wanted!

I've changed my own beliefs, albeit slightly, because of forum discussions I have had on the net (and RL discussions as well). In fact, I have changed more than slightly because of many small changes, over time.

If one person changed a view, even a little bit, and becomes even slightly more tolerant of the beliefs of others as a result, then it's worth it.

I hate to be a bitch here, but if it bothers you that people argue on the net, and believe that it does no good, why bother to get involved enough to make that point?

And while ur at it, ban the "non prude" Topicstarter aswell for lack of tolerence.

Geez.... go to another place to spit out the "GIVE SEX" line if you can't get any lol.

OK, I see where this would be good for mental sharpness and maybe even sharpening your belief either way. Good point.. I digress on my does it do anybody any good question based on my seeing in two posts how it could now.

Thats the first intelligent thing I've heard in awhile.

People arguing on the net doesnt bother me a bit. I had points I expressed and questions I asked that I wondered about. Your post was very helpful in that, up to that last part. LOL

That sounded a bit bothered to me. At the very least perplexed. The whole post did actually. It was rather lengthy and avuncular.

Well then not be a jerk, but if my opinion and questions in the post bothered you, why did you feel you had to answer it?

Seriously I am perplexed that this goes on so much over the same thing. Funny thing is if
1. I had said the same thing about the child av sex thread.
2. said the same thing about the kids on the grid thread.
3. said the same thing about the many posts about grid outtages or whatever.
4. Rather then asking questions or seeming "perplexed" but instead just jumped on the pile on someone band wagon.

I likely wouldnt have to be asked to defend my questions or perplexed thoughts, huh?

Non sequitur. I am not the one waxing sagacious and attempting to prod people into not discussing things through parental type psychology.

All this tells me is that it is a pattern for you, and that you likely have control issues ("Why, oh why, are you people talking about this again!?". Seriously, if you find certain topics to be trite, perhaps go find some that don't perplex you in such a way?

You dont know me. Saying something is a pattern for me and that I have control issues is a bit premature. You are basing this on me making a post and asking questions about if it ever really helps someone change a major religious or other belief. I really fail to see why that is such a major deal. It surely does not say all you are trying to say it does about me.
What if I took that comment and said you have obviously got issues with parental figures because you accuse me of using parental psychology? Or Maybe that you obviosly have a pattern for being a victim because you feel so strongly that I am trying to control everyone. Would that be fair? Wouldnt be founded on fact now would it? I dont know you and have no idea what you are about.
You tell me to find topics that dont perplex me in such ways? Why is it so upsetting to you if I raise these points?
Funny thing is way back Flipper and even yourself made posts that helped me with the question I asked. I even admitted and said thanks for that. I dont know why you had to go pesonal with it. Oh well..

You've given four examples of threads in which you asserted less than glowing reviews for the discussion of issues you are personally tired of. Sounds a bit like a pattern.

To flip the tables on you, what have you changed by asserting such logic? Have people stopped discussing said issues? No. Will they? No. So I fail to see the logic in it. It's like asking fish to stop swimming.

I am not upset, I am simply pointing out the futility of complaining about people debating hackneyed topics on the net. Dogs bark, cats meow, and netizens argue and beat dead horses to smithereens.

When I am upset, you'll know, and I highly doubt that you yourself could upset me.
