whatever i can do to help already joined last night and posted signs in my sim.

I joined.

When I asked the chatting people if it was okay that I was there, some said no, that this group should be invite only.

Should everyone be allowed in the Sellers Guild?

I just tried to join and there is no 'Join Now' button. Other groups have it, and I'm not out of groups, is this just me or has it been closed?

[left]I apologize for missing so much of this lively discussion today. Please understand that is was not a show of bad manners on my part, but one of those days that many of you know I have periodically when my health unfortunately gets the better of me.
(by the way, that was not stated for any show of sympathy to anyone who might interpret as such)

First and foremost, I am planning to be (at this moment)at the SLCC next month and would most certainly be interested in partaking of any discussion at that special forum Flip. It wuold be my pleasure. I think I have been around long enough & seen enough to qualify for that position, even though I have not come in contact with every single person in SL. (although goodness knows I try)

I think there have been some wonderful ideas expressed here on these boards over the last several days by so many of the best and most interesting minds in SL. It is time to put anger and emotion aside and try to harness all this energy to solve the issue at hand rather than sniping at each other in any sort of a personal way. I am sure that there is a way to take bits out of all these posts and come up with some reasonable platform to work with.

There is not going to be a magic bullet to stop thievery as we all know. As in the real world, underhanded people will remain one step ahead of all of us forever. So we have to stay calm and hard working, not snipe at each other, and work together and hard to do the best that we can to wipe them out.

I do however, feel that sharing info through a group like we formed is an amazingly quick way to share info about current goings on and can help us stay in touch. I applaud Psyke and Stroker for being so bold to get the ball rolling. Please lets stay with this, not take any hot headed reaction or let this great idea fall apart.

On a personal note, please understand that I would never respond to any type of personal jibe in the forums. That is just so unecessary and just not my style although there have been times even Baccara has been pushed that far. I would however, be happy to have anyone over to *Stardust* to tea who has never met Mash or myself. Please contact me inworld at any time.

ROFLOL... Norma Rae! Indeed! I'm with ya man, I don't really know how I can help, but I definitely support the strengthening of protection of Intellectual Property in SL. The economy is pretty much based on it , so everyone is affected by it. Bravo!

Well time for my opinion i guess lol Stroker made it aware to me the circumstances going on and because of my sl changing drastically due to drama and what not ! I came back to hear this Its sad and i cant be here to make things like i used to but exploits are a bother and if there's is a will there's a way! Count me in ill help what i can but... pls note i wont be part of any drama or griefing i do love the lindens many are kewl as hell! Phillip not to mention is down right hilarious! Anyway i hope we can all be happy and come to some kind of agreement where we all can enjoy our second life. I do know alot here depend on the L$ cos it pays for land fees and for them to make thier sl dreams come true! Stroker and many other island owners are the reason sl made it this far! I totally am in. I've been on a content creation boycott for over a year and a half now.

This whole thing is only a few days old. In a few days we will have our own forum and we can discuss structure and techniques. Right now there is no coherent strategy or aims. This will also be addressed in our forums by using the vote system. Please be patient the dust has not settled from the construction site..


Just because we have 24 Officers does not mean we have 24 spokespeople. The forums will lead to a structure and a plan.

It is a complete illusion to believe that sellers are not ever going to be scammers. Our Guild will be spied upon whether it is open or closed. From my view at the moment we are collecting members and supporters into a group (note the small g). The sellers are generally going to be Officers and supporters can be members. This is my view only and will be sorted out officially once we have our forum and voting methods in our forum.

Right now there is no point assuming our Group is going to take any type of actions in the future because we have not organised our internal structure nor started any voting procedures.

But that is comming. For those who think we are wasting our time... thanks for dropping by. For those concerned that we are going to force u to take actions that you don't want to (like closing your shop)... we are not a dictatorship. All members of our group have free will. Some of us will unite in certain goals and actions and some wont. This group is to unite us behind this feeling we all feel and to decide like mature adults what we as individuals and collectively want to do.

Give us time to get organised, what you see right now is not what we will be once we have a structure and our forum.

Who are the officers? I want in, but I dont understand why some deserve to be officers and others members. I know that is not really important, but I was just curious. And I do like the idea.

however, I still can see people have questions. I just seen in the list of officers people that don't look like spokepeople to me. Anyway, it is not important. But the guild is. Go for it!

I think the point is if you were invited and invited others to join like I did, you didn't know who was supposed to be an officer and who a member, since I didn't start the group when I invited someone I invited them to be a member. I think the 'status' in group is pretty irrelevant it's the unity of community that counts. If we start worrying about who has what we are going to be totally side tracked by trivia instead building what we should be building, a unified community with common goals.

If I am an officer I'm not going to make you put your knickers on your head and wear carrots for shoes and if I'm member I ain't doing it either so I don't think you have too much to worry about.

All I know is that, it is good to support for this, but as others said before. When a store closes, do people care? don't think so. People miss it for a few. but I know in fact many "popular" designers that take a break and leave stores behind and people move on to other new designers.

I do see the point of protecting. In my case I design for fun. I do see if a designer makes their living according to what they sell here. But in my case, I don't mind what I sell as long as I have fun creating a bit and if someone likes it and wants to buy it great!, if not, so much SL can offer me.

I don't think a group this big should just settle for partaking in quiet protests. Most Lindens (maybe even Phillip) probably know we're pissed off. Instead, with this long list of recognizable names, I'd rather see this group use their unified voice in making changes in the building tools, permissions system, you know ... push LL to evolve with the rest of us.

If they can make the group features into what they are now in the Aditi preview then they can make the permissions system just as versatile. The way we create things is stagnant compared to the flood of new people coming into SL.

I'd love to see this group have all the members put their brains together and present something to LL that really has substance, rather than protest the actions of other residents. Like, here is our complaint, this is what we need SL to have to make it truly functionable. If this group comes to the table with an impressive organization of ideas then maybe the people listening in LL will respect that and take heed and changes would happen now rather than placed on the backburner.
