Psst. Wrong account, dude. You needed to respond with your other trolling alt.

I'm a troll, but in a nonforum sense. Just speaking truths, and I don't hide.

I have however left the house alot less than previous weeks..and will be so for the next 2 months too. Optimistically I should be back at work around then when I'm out of physical therapy.

Just to clarify, which of your multiple personalities are you not hiding behind? :p

1. I don't know Bacarra, don't care.

That's too bad, it's your loss. I can't say enough good things about her - she certainly doesn't deserve your cavalier dismissal.

From: someone
2. Check the order of posts. Rebel hadn't replied as of that post. This wouldn't be a problem if you knew how to read properly, but you probably just made a mistake.

Wait. She hadn't replied yet, but somehow that's my fault for not 'reading properly'? What do I look like, some kind of a psychic?

You know, Jonas, whatever good points you made in objection to this group are getting lost in your needless polemics. There's plenty of meat here for a substantive discussion, why engage in personal attacks?

You can clearly see Rebel Hope's post comes AFTER the one you quoted on the first page.

So YES, it IS your fault for not reading properly. Post 8 comes before post 11.

I'm not a seller, I just build for people, but I think the guild is a good idea. I haven't had to deal with many of the kinds of issues the rest of you have, but what I think is - you need more tools in your hands, and your IP rights do need more active protection, and they need to hear more about what features you like, how you use them, what features you need, and what doesn't work for you.

I thought Cindy's post was interesting, I'm inclined to agree, the force of your collective knowledge and energies may yield great results, I think you may succeed in being heard and affecting change. You may not even need protests to get a different sort of dialogue going (for long anyway, but I kinda think you could make quite an effective protest actually).

Good luck with your group!

And Jonas, I just don't understand why you are carrying on in this thread, sorry.

I personally have been around long enough to know that Linden Lab DOES care. Unfortunately, the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing at times. I am sure that the majority of the Developers in San Francisco spend nowhere near the amount of time inworld as we do. A lot of times it is the residents who are the first to point out an exploit or bug. (As was the case recently).

Well Stroker, I do hope that you are right, and I support any constructive means for combatting IP theft and other TOS violations. If the next update or two increases our groups limit above 15, or if I can wriggle out of one of the 15 that I am in now, I'll consider adding myself to your numbers.

Because a group claiming to protect IP rights is a joke if it doesn't protect ALL IP rights. The two places I mentioned have massive IP theft.

I'm not in.... not exactly.

The content I sell already, what there is of it, will stay available.

My protest takes the form of NOT releasing new content.

I WANT to sell 'kits' and 'components' to product makers. I'd make them public domain if I still got dwell probably... gotta offset my tier costs some how.

"Next Owner" privs are nice... but insufficient.

I need a way to grant more permissions to authorized re-sellers... without automatically granting those additional privs to their customers.

This is a branch on the topic of permissions though which left off in June with: #94 in the " Permissions discussion where it should be" thread.

I'll be happy in joining the many others who don't care why you're on strike in spending our money elsewhere. ~yawn~ Life will go on, without you. No biggy.

I've been reading back but I can't see where strikes have been proposed - they only seem to have been mentioned by people saying "strikes won't work". Have I missed a post? It's quite possible, I'm a little distracted.

Yopp!

WOOT! Count me in.

To the naysayers: While you MAY be correct that nothing will come of
all this, unless we try, we can be assured that nothing will happen.

:::
And, down on the dust speck, the scared little Mayor
Quick called a big meeting in Who-ville Town Square.
And his people cried loudly. They cried out in fear:
“We are here! We are here! We are here!”

Through the town rushed the Mayor, From the east to the west.
But everyone seemed to be doing his best.
Everyone seemed to be yapping or yipping!
Everyone seemed to be beeping or bipping!
But it wasn’t enough, all this ruckus and roar!
He HAD to find someone to help him make more.
He raced through each building! He searched floor-to-floor!

And, just as he felt he was getting nowhere,
And almost about to give up in despair,
He suddenly burst through a door and that Mayor
Discovered one shirker! Quite hidden away
In the Fairfax Apartments (Apartment 12-J)
A very small, very small shirker named Jo-Jo
was standing, just standing, and bouncing a Yo-Yo!
Not making a sound! Not a yipp! Not a chirp!
And the Mayor rushed inside and he grabbed the young twerp!

And he climbed with the lad up the Eiffelberg Tower.
“This,” cried the Mayor, “is your towns darkest hour!
The time for all Whos who have blood that is red
To come to the aid of their country!” he said.
“We’ve GOT to make noises in greater amounts!
So, open your mouth, lad! For every voice counts!”

Thus he spoke as he climbed. When they got to the top,
The lad cleared his throat and he shouted out, “YOPP!”

And that Yopp…
That one small, extra Yopp put it over!
Finally, at last! From that speck on that clover
Their voices were heard! They rang out clear and clean.
And the elephant smiled. “Do you see what I mean?…
They’ve proved they ARE persons, no matter how small.
And their whole world was saved by the smallest of All!”
:::

You never know which voice will be the one that gets heard.

Oh forcryingoutloud, Jonas. You want me to think I'm the dense one here?

I was responding to your post (#5 in the thread) which said The only one we see here so far is you., followed by #8 ("Never heard of either of you"), both of which were dismissive and rude. I don't see why Rebel's post has anything to do with your response to Baccara and RH Engel (who are both sizable content providers and participants in the community even if they haven't registered personally with Jonas to gain his approval). Maybe you're trying to say that Rebel Hope is the only content provider you ever knew of? I love Rebel's stuff, but I think she'd agree with me that there is a lot more to SL than just one store.

You seem to have this need for negative attention by being a perpetual Devil's Advocate/resident whiner. I point out that any good suggestions you may have had are being overshadowed by your perpetual pessimism and what do you do? Add more pessimism.

Way to go.

The OP mentions peaceful protests, shop and sim closures, etc...

Oh, yes, I see.

Well, I don't think shop and sim closures aren't going to make much difference either, but I don't think those are the main activities that this sort of group should be engaging in anyway; the effectiveness of concerted lobbying is much greater than any sort of content strike, which will only have a small proportion of SL CCors participating in it in any case.

I kinda saw them as a sidenote really, whether people think that will or won't work shouldn't deter them from the overall idea. I agree, I think it's as a lobby group they may have most success. Either way, I think they'll have some clout.

Rebel is the only RH who means anything to me. My original statement stands. RH Engel and Baccara's involvement means nothing. They don't even register, only a handful here do.

Its easy to dismiss both of them, and the OP.

You might reconsider if you knew anything that you were talking about. Stroker and Baccara/Mash are two of the biggest sellers, bar-none, grid-wide. In fact, Stroker is SLBoutique's #1 seller, and there are some prolific creators on that top 10 list.

Them being concerned is the equivalent to Home Depot and Target saying they're concerned about the stability of the U.S. economy. Investors would panic if that ever happened, causing a significant problem for the economy.

Regards,

-Flip
