Do you think signatures should allow images?

Well, I see something's changed in the interim... but this is still topical:

My my aren't we angry? There are zero guidelines for what we are allowed to put in our signatures. Where does it say you cannot put large animated images? The point is that by allowing them, when they never have before, they are just opening up the door for a lot of abuse. Even the non-abusing images are distracting - especially in quantity once you have a thread filled with them. Raising the point and illustrating it is not being childish - hwoever, your angry bitter rant is.

I'm not the one posting gigantic images in my signature just to "prove a point". If you don't like the decision they've made, make a Hotline post about it. Don't wave your dick around in General.

The entire point of putting in those images was to annoy people. True/False? You wanted it to annoy LL so that they would retract their decision to allow IMG tags. Right? So.. What exactly about that is not childish?

As for non-abusing images being distracting--a lot of non-image signatures are distracting, too. Want to ban signatures altogether? Yes? Well, you CAN! Omg, there is an option for it. You should maybe test that out a bit. It's pretty neat. The forums are a wonderful thing, indeed.

I say leave em on! And if people spam with huge oversized images well then a size limit should be set or something like that.

Asking a poll question is waving my dick around? You are really a class act. I put in an image to illustrate that there are no limitations on size, and there is nothing in the TOS that would make posting anything other than pornographic images against the TOS. There are zero guidelines for them. I did not put it there to annoy people, so that would be false. I don't know what your anger management issues are, but spew them at someone else. Notice it is a split issue - it is not just some clear cut thing where not wanting them is being unreasonable. We have never had them before until a few hours ago - it is not like I raised this a year from now when we've had them all along.

Gee. Too bad that's not possible. The images aren't hosted on LL's servers.

The table size can be limited, but the authors of vBull either didn't see fit to include that functionality or Linden Lab is not using it. I'm guessing the former.

There is a way with the latest version of vbulletin, 3.5.0 (or whatever its on now i haven't checked in a few weeks hehe) However, if LL does not want to take the time to reupdate, they can download a hack that issues certain restrictions on the img code in signatures if i remember right.

The problem is because they are just links to external images, there is no way to limit their size.

If the images are of pie, or naked boobies, I endorse this feature.

What could possibly be wrong with images in signatures?

It's not like they're distracting, gaudy, or detract from the post.
