Ok just a teeny little rant - please don't call me "girl".

In Selador's defense, he does have a point. The first thing I think when I see someone wearing a collar is, "Slave?" I don't assume they definitely are, but there's no question that it immediately occurs to me that they might be. That's just the way it is.

That's just the way it is. it is true my Precious one, that this might be the First assumption that Selador, or others make when they see a Collar, But to me it's only an Indication that they REALLY need to get Out more. They have obviously Immersed themselves Far too Deeply in the Lifestyle if that is the Only Posibility that occurs to them. Hardly a defence of their position. I have been in the Lifestyle On Line for over four years, and in RL For,,God,, Nearly fifteen. I have been Gorean On Line for over three of my Four years, and after All that exposure, I am not Infecred with that Tunnel Vision when it comes to Others Manner of dress, OR my ability to conduct myself Appropriately in areas other than Gorean Sims. The Goreans who demonstrate an Inability to behave Respectfully of other peoples Lifestyles and Not Inflict their Own where it may not be appropriate or welcome Only Demonstrate a Lack of Self Discipline. and i have always said, "How can One Master others, when one Cannot Master Ones self?" alex's Mistress. Alex and Angel,
When I first saw some girl with a collar in SL, I did not think she was a slave or submissive. All I thought was, oh great, high NYC style fashion, how 90s.
When I first saw a girl in silk I thought, oh great the Taliban is here... amusingly I wasn't that far off.
When I first saw a gorean dude, I was like oh how village people.

It's so unusual to see You here like this, Mistress. Actually, what really makes me think "slave" is when I see someone in silks, although it's possible to choose to wear them just because they're pretty, of course. How the person behaves also is often an indicator. But I wouldn't just assume. Some of the actions people are attributing to Goreans astonish me. As bad as Fido is, and he's trash by any decent standards, I still wouldn't expect him to do some of thing things described here. Well ... okay, maybe most of them. But that's Fido! He's as bad as I've seen them get!

If a member of the Taliban saw a girl in a revealing garment like silks, he would probably have a heart attack at all the exposed flesh, then get his cronies to stone her to death. Women have been treated horribly by the Taliban for so much as showing a flash of an ankle or too much of their arms.
