Let's see.

From: someone
-- wall planter (mod/copy, no transfer): can be used as a picture frame (as sold), or modified to be a mirror
-- various framed and unframed artworks
-- two small tables, one for floor-sitters/little critters, one a coffee table (@ 2 prims)
-- computer desk in two styles: basic (5 prims, with monitor shelf) and executive (6 prims, with larger hutch)
-- executive chair (at present offered only in black leather, have other options available but not displayed, IM for texture alternatives)
-- rattan trash bin

Missing something?

I think it is.

Something called capitalization. That's when you use upper case letters.

Very professional!

Also, the full text of that ad doesn't actually give any coordinates for reaching the wares in question. Nor does it even correctly reference the name of the sim where the wares can be found.

Very professional, indeed! Here's a hint. If you want to be professional, make sure your customers know where to find you. Once that's done, you can take people to task for not adhering to proper spelling and other conventions of English.

Your not following the topic though - if it's spelled righeterer than ets profeshunul.

As Tina Turner sang 'What's quality got to do with it.. got to do with it....'

Well, maybe she didn't sing those exact words... but she felt them in her heart.

Gaps in builds are unprofessional. Textures not properly rotated are unprofessional. Ceiling lights detatched and floating in the air are unprofessional. A chair without a seat is unprofessional. Default plywood sides on 'artwork' are uprofessional.
Don't even start me on appropriating someone else's original artwork for sale.

It's so hilarious when we see someone "worrying" about other people's businesses dues to a perceived lack of professionalism (as if that was the real reason for the belittling).

What sweat is it off your ass Merlyn, if they don't spell properly?

You're losing out on exactly nothing by not carrying on about it, other than not being able to control and belittle others to make yourself feel better about your own obvious lack of self-confidence.

New acronym, because we know how some SLers love them so very much:

SLBS - Second Life Busybody Syndrome.

When you sound it out, make sure to emphasize the last two letters and to roll your eyes so hard that you pull an ocular muscle.

I have grammar- and spelling-nazi tendencies, but I keep them to myself... mostly because I'm quite capable of misspelling the odd word, and grammar sometimes escapes me, usually in the form of really egregious run-on sentences like this one. :D

Seriously, though... yeah, SL is multinational, and there are loads of people with some form of dyslexia or other disability making spelling difficult for them. So as long as I can decipher what they're saying, it's not going to bother me.

ON THE OTHER HAND, I ASSOCIATE ALL-CAPS WITH 'YELLING'. WHEN I SEE AN AD IN ALL-CAPS, I IMAGINE THE AUTHOR AS A SMALL CHILD CRAWLING INTO MY LAP, GRABBING MY COLLAR, AND SHAKING ME WHILE SCREAMING 'BUY ME! BUY ME! BUY ME!'.

Please have them read post #41. PLEASE!

Bob (spell-checked)

You know, from the ads I see on classifieds, spelling "Separate" wrong is the least of your worries.

If I look at this example ad:

U WIL LIK OR CHOSES N STUF N U WAN NO SEPERETE STOR!!!!!1

Yeah.......I think there's worse off things in there.

I don't care about the little things like "Separate" but I do hate it when their ad looks like the one above (and yes I have seen it like that many times in classified).

WTF does that mean? Is that some dweeb slang that only some pimply-faced geek under 21 can understand?

k, that's nice, but we speak English here.

Also, professional emphasis of a word would consist of formatting it with bold or italics (for example). I'm not sure where it says in the AP style guide that you use underscore and capital letters for emphasis, but that's not how we roll in my hood.

There are different ways of spelling different names:

Geoffrey/Jeffery/Jeffry

Stephen/Steven

John/Jon

None of which names, by the way, are English in origin. Have you bothered picking up a book since 4th grade?

What about people who just sell stuff to help pay tier and maybe make a little in world spending money? I run a bussiness in SL yes, but I'm far from professional and I know for a fact I have scared potential clients away with my unprofessionalismalness.

Do you honestly think it has to be pointed out that its unprofessional to misspell things? We know this, we just dont care.

Then you're not worth dealing with if you don't want to be professional about your business.

Sorry, toots, you don't get to talk about being unprofessional in your business. Let me repeat for you:

That's as amateur as it gets in SL business. You lose at the forums.
