In no particular order.
Starax - THE wand Desmond Shang - Caledon and tulips Wildefire Walcott - Avid BDSMer, and one of the most twisted minds I know, but still comes across as sweet Flea Bussy - Grendels Children. Great avs, great prices, and now, absolutely beautiful sims. Jamie Bergman (never said famous for a good reason) - Freebie reseller/Linden dollar speculator/cant mention third and keep this thread open Anshe Chung (again, not for good reason) - Land market, SL Millionaire form 10 bucks starting Prok Neva (see above 2) - Famed blogger, one of the most notorious forum bans Flipperpa Peregrine - ESC and SLB, as well as NCI Travis Lambert - Shelter owner, a wonderful place for newbies Strife Onizuka (...whos probably gonna lock this thread) - Forums on here, whether for weal or woe _____________________

this entire thread is garbage. you cant be famous in a video game. people who think they are important need to visit real life and see the difference. its like being a soap opera star in south america and thinking anyone else in the world notices you.

I wanted to be on that list, but when I looked at who else was in the running I realized that my contributions just didn't compare. It wasn't the recognition I wanted but to be on par with greats. I am honored to be consider in that light. For my work on the forums, through the good times and the bad, I hope I am remembered for the good. _____________________

Yes, I'm surprised Strife didn't lock this thread too, since it violates certain rules he's used to lock threads in the recent past .. but I'll put it down to Banking's clever move.
![]() Jackson, your subject question conflicts with your post because in one you ask for the most famous, in the other the most notable to me personally. That requires two different lists. Most famous people in Second Life IMO...... 1. Torley Linden 2. FlipperPA Peregrine 3. Francis Chung 4. Fizik Baskerville 5. Cristiano Midnight 6. Aimee Weber 7. Nephilaine Protagonist 8. Ulrika Zugzwang 9. Desmond Shang 10. SuezanneC Baskerville Most notable to me? 1. Lumiere Noir 2. Carl Metropolitan 3. Anshe Chung 4. Robin Sojourner 5. Cristiano Midnight 6. Neil Protagonist 7. Laukosargas Svarog 8. Lost Thereian 9. Luc Aubret 10. moo Money I don't know many people in either list, but those in the second list deserve a big thank you from me for either helping me to learn, or contributing to the overall quality of my Second Life experience. I hope you're all aware of the impact you make on the lives of people you don't even know. ![]() |

Hey would the people who gave a list mind editing posts and giving a brief description of what each person has done? I know a handful of them but I'm curious about the rest. Something really short, like 'Anshe Chung- Huge real estate holdings, makes 6 figure salary.' Ok maybe that wasn't really short but ya know what I mean

I don't want to touch my original post, but as for my most notables list:
Lumiere Noir built the Ivory Tower Library of Primitives, Carl Metropolitan is the head of New Citizens Incorporated - both areas extremely helpful to me when I joined in May 2007. Anshe Chung enabled the development of Provincetown - SL's extensive gay village. (Many others have contributed to its growth and culture, obviously.) Robin Sojourner is a tips and templates goddess. I would have fewer decent clothes if it wasn't for that woman and I suspect many others wouldn't be in business. I don't post images to Cristiano Midnight's Snapzilla much, but I visit daily for all kinds of reasons. I appreciate it most of all for regularly introducing me to new builds/sims/spectacular areas. Neil Protagonist created Nakama, the most immersive sim I'd experienced when I first visited last summer, and probably the most important to anime and manga fans. Laukosargas Svarog created Svarga. When you first visit, you witness beauty. When you explore, you feel it. It has a self-contained ecosystem, interactive wildlife, and you don't forget it in a hurry. I aspire to the design benchmarks set by Laukosargas. Lost Thereian's (Naughty Designs) skins are so brilliantly shaded and popular that (despite the price tag) they even make newbie skins seem rare. I have yet to see a product of Lost's that didn't wow me, and I have plenty of his stuff in my inventory. He is yet another Photoshop genius I admire. (I assume much of his shading is done in Photoshop anyway.) Luc Aubret invented the ProTEC shield and PsiTEC combat system. Wonderfully designed, very useful if you get griefed a lot, and I suspect about as popular as Lost's skins. moo Money is the community manager of alt-zoom studios and probably the best known person on the machinima scene. She organises lots of machinima related learning events (of which I've attended a few) and festivals. I've yet to immerse myself in the machinima scene, but i've worked on several filming projects over the past few months that wouldn't have been possible without the knowledge imparted by moo. |

I purposely left Lindens off, otherwise Eric, Torley, Phillip, and Robin would have taken 4 spots.

I know, but to be honest, that was before I joined. Torley was a Linden when I came around (going on 2 years)

Hope I spell their names right...
Yadin (for bringing freebies to the masses and creating a very noticeable build, great to explore even if you are not looking for anything specific). Strife Onizuka (just because you seem fair, even if you lock interesting posts BEFORE I read them) Olive (for having the guts to create the much needed SLBB, and sticking her head far enough about the crowd and be targetted by the forum sharks (you know who you are)). Brenda (because I vote for her as SL Chief Of Police) Anyone who played Lineage II that gave it up, and are now in SL (Hides his Dark Eleven B grade staff behind his back). All those people that have contributed to SL, the things we enjoy freely (you number more than 10) The Lindens (even though you didn't laugh at my joke 'how many lindens does it take to change a light bulb? One to hold the bulb, the rest to screw up the sims... I forgive you) Despite all the flak you take, we wouldn't have SL if you took it all to heart. Bilbo (without you, I'd have to explain all my hUmoUr on these forums ![]() _____________________

This thread is garbage.
These or whatever people anyone lists are famous only in the minds of whoever wrote it. Go ask for their autographs then, go on. |
