Seriously, I can't build worth a damn (I'm working on it, but I'm still pretty new). I can't script, I have no fashion sense, I'm male and really not interested in being a gay escort, and I have no legitimate marketable skills. How did I amass a fortune worth nearly $40.00 US? Easy. Mr. VISA. Hit a couple buttons and BOOM! Plenty of Lindens for buying stuff, and generally enjoying life. If you really want to treat SL like a game, then buy the game. I paid $50.00 for F.E.A.R. when it came out and $20.00 for the expansion. I thoroughly enjoyed both. $70.00 invested in SL will get you around 18,000L. That's more than you need to get a good start by about 17,000L. I don't think SL is a game, but seriously, as one noob to another, forget about making a fortune. Shell out a couple bucks and you'll have plenty of Lindens to get some cool stuff and look good. Then find some friends and hang out with them. I've met some really cool people and had more fun on SL for free than I have had paying for stuff. OTOH, my hair is awesome. Except when it's stuck to my butt - then it's just weird. Trout, you are my new hero. How eloquent, how succinct, how sensible. Thank you. To the OP, (whatever your name is) listen: I've been in SL for two years, one year as Sol, one year as another Avi, may she rest in peace. I only JUST opened a business during the last 4 months. I resale other people's beautiful creations because I have no skills and no desire to learn any...too lazy. I make about enough to cover my shopping addiction, and that is after a significant investment on my part (building, decor, etc.). That's it. I'm not getting rich or even well to do. It's about the fun of it. The Lindens I make are just icing. Also, I made the mistake of making my shop so damn cozy that I've been told by more than one customer that they come there to just hang out on the patio and listen to the music. Most don't buy a damn thing.  Not my intention when I started but whatever. Such as it is, it's mine. So, just to echo what everyone else has pretty much said: Chill out and learn the ins and outs of SL before you try to become the next SL millionaire. I think SL is shit is unfair we all have to waste a lot to do something and in most cases we do 0 yes after I wasted 3000, no nice jobs lot of sex , hippie shit that doesn't work and lot of no good companies that use some piramid system. After trying to run 3 shops 1 at a time I realised sl sucks offers nothing free all free is useless as we can't sell in sanboxes so we have to waste in uploads , and making pictured boxes as all is low in prims and as we know we all want money but don't want to waste money so SL is failing. As last try b4 i kill myself i do I tryed to make a group where we all pay to join and the money goes for renting land for all member of group so they can sell after they build without wasting lindens in rents and uploads to each product. Please help me to get my goal im very unhappy. Group: Build and Sell Yard Edy Woodget go back to real life nub |
