Advice on Sales!!

Whew! I've been busy the last few weeks. Between building my shop (actually my partner is building my shop, but I'm the "overseer" lol), preparing and teaching classes (plug for Etopia Eco-Village!), and taking a 10-week class on The Gimp which involves a LOT of homework, my head is spinning.

While my shop is still being built, I'm having a yard sale of quality resale items on the site of my shop to start getting customers used to the location. Based on tips from this thread and Jojo's classes on marketing, I'm trying to get my name out there any way possible and today I saw a great payoff - 600L in a few hours on a few of the yard sale items *plus* a LOT of a special I put out in the FabFree group.

I know there will be a great ebb and flow in my business sales once I get it up and running, but just watching marketing in action on a few items really has me pumped!

Excited about your new area, Rhia! Man...I'm finding out the time it takes to think out designs, find the textures, etc. in building a structure.

Rha - i am interested in being as sponsor of the hunt both for my store and also for the Etopia sims. I am planning a pumpking hunt on etopia anyway as we did last year. If that works let me know...thanks~!

If your hunt on the Etopia sims is happening at the same time (on Oct 31st) that might cause some confusion for the hunters, but we can set you up for your store.

we are working on the signage and hope to have it done soon, all items necessary (notecard about the hunt, and sign which will hand out a notecard, and the pumpkin to hide the stuff in and the LM to the next store in the chain will be handed out on the 18th (cut off for accepting sponsors is the 17th)
I will be sending out a notice via the hippo group either today or tomorrow reminding folks that we need their LM (best way is in a folder done like this)

I will use my store as an example.

Folder name - LM for Grid Hunt- Rhaorth Antonelli
landmark - (however you want it, default or your store name, up to you)
this info will also be included in the reminder notecard

I will also send the invitation notecard to those in the thread that have requested to be a sponsor so they can also see more info.

Jojogirl I added you to the hippo group, will send you an in world group invite, if you can not join just decline and send me an im as to not being able to join (no explaination needed, just let me know so I do not reinvite heh)

The hunt sounds like a fabulous idea and I'd love to participate. (You guys are chock full of creative ideas....I love it!). Rha...please let me know what I need to do to be a sponsor.

Yep....made the decision.....we are hitting the delete button on the old main store and lowering the new build in to place. We still have a lot of work to do so bare with us whilst we get this done. Once in place I will send group invites to those on the list for the mall spaces so you can come and set up. wish us luck

I am starting to gets some traffic from people using search to find my shop, problem is though the shop is 735M up and people get teleported to the land below when they use the search teleport option.
how do i fix that?

set out a sign on the land below with a teleporter to the store, so they know where to go

I had my store up in the air too, but moved it back to ground level to avoid that problem

The mall looks great thanks to you guys, and there was some definite interest from customers after I sent notices to my group, don't know if you had any sales yet, but I know people were looking
All the vendor spaces are now reserved, but if there is enough interest we will happily add a second level to the mall, so if anyone else does want a vendor space at Primal Art let me know and if there are enough people we will add another level.
Yes, the spaces are big, hate small claustrophobic spaces myself, so there is no way would ever offer pokey spaces to others.
The first floor of the main build is now in place....only 3 floors to go lol Will add them over the next few days, the main thing was to get the vendor spaces and tattoos up and running yesterday, which we did finally achieve lol
Off to rl work for me now, so wish I could stay home, get a bit more sleep and more of the main store in place, but.... I owe, I owe, so it's off to work I go

Ihave had a couple of sales already frm the vendor space YAY! So that was pretty exciting for me.

Set the landing point to inside the store. Having people land inside a sky store when coming from search, is normal.

yes.. that's is exactly my point. but how?
i tried setting a landing point from inside the store butt is too high up to be able to access the "about land" tools

that's brilliant news E, and very encouraging, hope everyone else gets similar responses, and your stuff did not look at all messed up to me, but then again I had been online 14 straight hours by the time I logged, so may not have been totally with it lol I am sure it is fine

All we have to do now is get the other 3 floors in place, then redo advertising etc, have a few halloween goodies to put out as well which will hopefully generate some extra traffic too. But all looks good and encouraging so far
