Advice on Sales!!

oh I what a fantastic thread! I learned quite a lot and have a shop i opened on the 1st of October if anyone would like to take a look and tell me what you think.

had a look,very cool, niche product for sure, if you can get the right folks there I think you will do well

I explored the ship, I guess that is what it is
the only thing that bugged me was having to click each door to open, for some reason in a ship like that, I always expect the doors to open, so maybe that might be something you might consider, using elevator door scripts to auto slide open the doors

I was also looking for the iris door to see it in action, could not find any

the avatars look really neat (the armor) I would have gotten one just because I like getting stuff like that, but was more than I was willing to pay, however, that doesn't mean that folks that are looking for that specific stuff won't pay that much

(L's are tight for me, so I can not justify anything over 100 to 200L for anything these days)

I was using a comercial door system for the ships doors, it didnt have an open on Avatar proximity option but i really like the idea! I will look into it for sure.
the Iris door is in the bottom of the ship, it is on the "gun deck" and there is a teleport for the ship just behind the bridge

also, if you think I am charging too much for anything please say so, I am new to this so i may be charging to much and not realising it

I will look when I get in world- but just so you know- not everyone has signatures turned on.

hard to know if you are charging too much, as I am not really buying that kind of stuff, your best bet would be to do some searching around and see what the average price is for those types of things and go from there.

my script I use for my doors is not very good commercially as it needs to be set for each time it is used, else the doors can (and do) zoom off to god knows where hehe (I have lost many a door that way

A scripter could probably modify it to be more builder/seller friendly, but I am no scripter

Please forgive me if it comes that way, sometimes I just can't find the correct words to express what I am trying to say, and end up either sticking my foot in my mouth, or sounding like I am a snob, or ... well you get the idea

Maihem I just visited your shop (ship) hehe, wow nice sci-fi stuff! I also am not a good judge of price for that sort of thing, but looking at it, the level of detail is awesome and it really looks like quality stuff I wouldn't personally think your prices are too high, I would think myself because of the level of detail they might even be a bit low. If you don't have your stuff on XStreet/OnRez, I would suggest you put them there because there are people out there who I am sure would really appreciate your stuff!

ETA: I just recognized the name of your store!! The VERY first bed I purchased when new to SL was from your store. It was a canopy bed that I just LOVED!!! I also purchased the matching rug and dressing screen. Happy memories

you do not have to join the in world group if you do not have room, but you will still be added to the hippo group
